Clouds kept rolling through the blue sky as Rina was lying down in a huge green field. She didn’t know how she got there, but it was so peaceful. She couldn’t even remember what she had been doing last, she was just here. There was a slight breeze sweeping through the field, and rustling the long grass. The place reminded her of her home at the Romani Ranch, and she didn’t want to ruin the moment.
Rina closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She heard two birds fly by, and heard the wind blowing through the grass. When she opened her eyes again, she noticed that everything around her seemed to be fading away. Everything was suddenly fading into darkness. There was no more blue sky filled with clouds above here, and she was no longer in a grassy field.
“What is going on…?” Rina thought out loud. Then, a shock of pain ran through her entire body. She could barely move her back hurt so much, as well as the rest of her body.
“It seems like you are finally coming too.” A voice from beyond the darkness said.
Slowly, Rina opened her eyes to find herself lying on the floor of a stone cell. Everything was a brownish color, and there was a thin layer of sand on the floor. Memories started rushing back to her head as fast as the pain had come back. She remembered that she had been in the Stock Pot Inn with her father and Sheik, and they were attacked by those two thugs. She was knocked after she had fought the one muscle bond one.
“I’m so glad that you are ok.” Her father said with a sigh of relief. He was sitting on a bench that was attached to the wall of the cell.
“Uggg…” Rina moaned. “Where are we anyway?” She tried to get up off the floor, but the pain was too much, so Link had to help her.
“Well, I believe we are in the Ikana Canyon. From what I can see out of that small window up there.” He said point to the small hole in the wall with one bar.
“How long have I been knocked out for?” Rina sighed rubbing that back of her head.
“I would guess around two hours at the minimum.” Link said, looking at the ceiling. “How do you feel? I woke up when we entered the building, and the big guy was holding his side like he was hurt. And the skinny guy had cloth wrapped around his arm, with a red stain on it.”
“That was my doing. I got the smaller guy with an arrow almost half way through his arm, and I grazed the other guy with my sword while I was trying to fight them off after you had both been knocked out.” Rina said smiling.
Link smiled back and put his hand on Rina’s shoulder. “My little girl is growing up!”
“By the way, what happened to Sheik?”
“Well, he is still in the Stock Pot Inn, and he said he was going to call soon.”
“Call…? What do you mean cal….” Rina was cut off. All of a sudden, she was thrust outside of her body. She didn’t know if she was just having an out-of-body-experience, when her body seemed to come to live without her spirit in it!
“Sorry I came so late, I was waking for Rina to wake up.” Rina’s body said.
“It’s ok, so what are we going to do now?” Link asked.
“Just a minute.” Rina’s body turned and faced where Rina was standing. “I know this must be a weird experience for you, Rina. But it’s me, Sheik. I can do things like this, and don’t worry; you will be back to normal once I get out of here.”
“But how can you see me? I am just a spirit right now, and Hylians can’t see or hear spirits…” Rina said, trailing at the end.
“But I am a Sheikiet remember? We have special powers within my clan.” Sheik said, with what seemed like an “implied smile” since his face was covered in wrappings.
“Now that that is settled, let’s talk about our plan.” Link said.
“Fine by me.” Sheik replied.

After Link and Sheik had talked for around half an hour, Sheik turned to were Rina’s spirit was.
“I’m leaving now. Your spirit will come back into your body, and there shouldn’t be any trouble. I’m sorry you had to be put through this.”
“It’s ok, really.” Rina said with a smile.
Rina saw her body go limp, and then the next thing she knew, she was back sitting in front of Link in her body. She raised her hands, and looked at them carefully. She sighed in relief and then looked at her father.
“You know what we are going to do now, right?” Link asked her.
“Yeah, I understood most of what you guys were talking about. But first we have to get out of this cell.”
“Leave that to me.” Link said grinning. He brought out the Goron Mask, and then put it on. There was a flash of light, and were her father had been standing, there was a Goron looming over her. “Stand back from the bars.” Link said, as he took a few steps back and raised his rocky hand into the air.
He punched the air in front of him, sending shock waves that hit the bars. Then he punched at the air again, sending more shock waves. He punched once more, sending the biggest shock waves yet at the now bending steel bars. He walked up to the bars, and ran his hand in a line touching all of the bars. Once he was finished, all of the bars crumbled into dust.
“That was amazing.” Rina said.
Link’s Goron face smiled. “Gorons are much stronger naturally than any Hylian can hope to be. And once trained the right way, the can be strong enough to even bend steel without hardly touching it.”
The two walked about of the now open cell and looked around to see if any guards had seen what Link had done. Link then handed Rina the Keaton Mask, which she put on. Although the Keaton Mask’s purpose was to see the fox spirits called Keatons, this time it was just being used as a disguise.
With Link as a Goron, and Rina wearing the Keaton Mask, they started to walk towards the exit of the jail. Since Link had regained conciseness when their captors had entered the jail, he remembered the way to get out. After walking down a few hallways and opening a few doors, the reached the main entrance of the facility.
But they were spotted by the two watchmen sitting at the front desk.
“Hey!” A man who was slumping in his chair with his feet on the counter shouted. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“Out. What does it look like?” Link replied with just as much rudeness as the man who had asked the question.
“Looks like we got ourselves a sharp talking Goron, eh Fred?” the other man snorted.
“Just who do you think you are anyway?” the man named Fred asked, standing up from his chair.
“We were visiting an acutance of mine that is all.” Link said starting for the door.
“Oh yeah? And who would that be?” Fred asked him, walking out from behind the desk and trying to reach eye level with Link.
Link tried to think of some of the prisoners that they had pasted on their way from their cell.
Then, a certain prisoner came to mind. “You know, that old Goron with the silver chains around his arms. He is my brother’s dear friend, and I was sent here to see how he was doing.”
“Oh, old Granite? Yeah, that guy isn’t going anywhere soon, I’ll tell you that.” Fred laughed. “What’s the deal with that guy wearing the mask?”
Link had wondered when they were going to say something about Rina. Since she wasn’t a Goron, it would be hard for him to talk his way out of this one.
“She was my escort, since I came here from Hyrule. I hired her in Clock Town. She knows her way around Termania better than I do.”
“What’s with the mask then?” the other man said standing up.
“This is from my agency. All of the escorts have to wear one; it was in our contract and it’s a tradition of the company.” Rina spoke up.
“I’ve never heard of such a company, what about you, Ben?” Fred turned and asked his college.
“I think I had heard something about this one business that made their employees wear masks around, but I don’t remember what it was for. I guess it must be the same one.” The man named Ben replied.
“Hmm…I guess that means you are free to go. Have a nice day.” Fred said, gesturing to the door.
“Thank you very much.” Link said, and they walked out of the jail.
When they were far enough away, Link and Rina broke out laughing.
Rina took off the Keaton mask. “Wow, I can’t believe that they fell for that!”
“I know, that was some quick thinking you had there Rina. I was at a loss of words.” Link took off the Goron mask in a flash of light and became a Hylian again.
“That just popped into my head!” Rina said as she handed the Keaton mask back.
“Well, now we just have to wait for Sheik to get the next step in our plan going.” Link said, as they went to look for a place to spend the night.

Once Link and Rina had found an abandoned house to rest in, it was already dusk. The canyon had been much more populated than Link had remembered. The last time he was there, there were only two people actually living in the once great town, but now it was over flowing with people.
“This is very interesting.” Link said as though deep in thought.
“What is so strange? So there are a lot of people living here now, things change over the years.” Rina said, sitting on what once was a bed.
“Yes I know that, but it’s just so strange. When I first came here, the entire kingdom of Ikana had been whipped out with the opening of the Stone Tower, and the whole canyon was filled with the undead. Gibdos walked around in the daylight, Stalchilds marched around the graveyard, waiting for their captain, and there were Redeads…dancing.”
Rina and Link both shuddered on that last note, causing the “bed” Rina had been sitting on to crumble, sending Rina through the moth eaten mattress. Link helped her out of the landslide, and they continued talking. After about an hour more of talking, they fell asleep, only to be woken up an hour later by Sheik entering their abode.
“Sleeping already?” Sheik laughed as he entered the dilapidated house. “I love what you’ve done with the place.”
Link yawned. “It’s not much, but we get by.” He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and stood up next to Sheik. “So, what took you so long?”
“Well, now that there are people living here again, they put up this toll gate at the mouth of the canyon. Since I didn’t feel like paying, I had to sneak in by climbing through the canyon. That wasn’t easy, but I got here without any of them noticing me!”
“No, I would like fries with that…” Rina said in her sleep, since she had not heard Sheik come in.
Link went over to wake her up when Sheik grabbed his arm.
“Let her sleep. She’s still young and is going to need her energy for this.”
“I know that, but we have to get going soon if we don’t want the whole town to know that we are here, and most of all, Makura.”
They let Rina sleep for another half an hour, when they decided that they had to get moving.
“Why do I have to get up now? I was right in the middle of a good dream!” Rina complained. “It had something to do with lumber.”
“What?” Link and Sheik said at the same time.
Rina smiled. “Yup, and it was getting good to. Now I will never know what was going to happen next.”
“Save your sadness for after we defeat that Makura ok?” Link said.
“Now, we have to sneak into the Ikana Palace.” Sheik said quickly. “Where else would Makura be hiding in this heat blasted canyon?”
After they got their things together, the all snuck out of the run down shack, and moved silently in the shadows of the locals’ homes. Thank fully, none of them had motion sensing lights. Soon, they were within a hundred yards of the palace. They knew that they wouldn’t be able to walk right through the main gates, but then Rina spotted a window that was big enough for a Goron to get through.
They slinked over to the window, which had been left open, and slide right through. They landed in what looked like the kitchen. Link heard a voice from behind a near by door and they all hid behind a near by counter.
The swinging doors opened, and two men walked into the room. No one could hear what they were saying, but they weren’t in the room for long, so they were able to come out of hiding and sneak into the room that the men were in before. The doors opened to what looked like a main entrance room, but no one was inside.
Link suddenly got chills. “The Redeads…” he said quietly. “…They danced in this room! I remember! That means that those big doors over there lead to the Throne Room.”
Hiding in the shadows of the pillars that where in the center of the room, Rina, Sheik, and Link were able to sneak over to the doors of the Throne Room.
“Who is going to open them? Rina whispered. They all looked at each other.
After an intense game of Rock-Paper-Scissors, Sheik was chosen to open the doors. The doors were very heavy, and all of them ended up helping to open them. Once open, they all peeked into the room. It looked just like Link had remembered it, open and airy, with the creepy light streaming through the rooms four giant windows that bordered the ceiling.
“Whoa, this place is BIG.” Rina silently gasped.
“Yeah it is, remember to stay on your guard.” Link said, as they slowly walked into the room.
“Glad to see you finally made it here.” A cold voice from across the room said. “I was wondering what took you all so long. I sent for you two from the prison this afternoon, but they had said you escaped.”
“Yeah, it was easy since your guards there were all so stupid.” Link said with a laugh.
“Is that so? Maybe I should have them take an exam before I hire them.”
“Let’s get this over with Makura.” Sheik shouted across the room. “There is no way you can win against us.”
“Maybe the way you look at it, but I have a request to make first. Can we take this fight outside? I don’t want to ruin this marvel of a castle while I destroy you.”
“Fine whatever. It will be easier to fight outside anyway.” Link said, walking towards the door.
“That’s the spirit!” Makura said with a grin as he opened the main doors for them and they all walked out.
------------------------------
Once they were outside, Link and Makura drew their swords. Rina followed, and Sheik got ready to attack.
“Let’s start the end here!” Makura said, as he sent a wave of darkness from his sword.
Rina, Link and Sheik all jumped out of the way, but Sheik got caught slightly, and was sent flying into a rock.
“ZELDA!” Link yelled as he ran to Sheik’s side.
“Zelda?” Rina said as she looked back. “I thought that was Sheik.”
Link removed some of the wrappings on Sheik’s head to reveal that it was Princess Zelda. Rina was shocked.
“You mean Sheik is a girl?”
“Yes, you didn’t know that? Sheik was the alias that Zelda took years ago to escape Ganon’s wrath. It saved her for a few years, but she was eventually found out. But this is not the time for that, WATCH OUT RINA!”
Rina turned around to see Makura holding his blade over her, and she narrowly got out of the way as he swung the dark sword into the ground.
Rina was panting. Makura was much faster than she thought he was, and he sneaked up on her without her noticing!
“You are lucky daddy was here to save you Rina, because it’s not going to happen again!” Makura laughed as he got his sword out of the ground.
“We’ll see about that!” Link said standing up and meeting his sword with Makura’s.
“Is that the best you can do, oh great Hero of Time?”
“This isn’t the half of it!”
“Now you will be the one to see!” Makura said as he jumped back and shot a ball of darkness toward Link.
Link easily dodged it and laughed. “See what? That you couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn?”
Makura laughed madly. “You think so? Why don’t you take a look behind you? Don’t worry; I’m not one to fight dirty while you back is turned.
Link slowly turned around to see Rina lying on the ground. He rushed over to her, but she didn’t move. Tears began to stream down Link’s face.
Rina was dead.

Yeah, this is my favorite chapter! enjoy! ^-^
Rina did not know how she ended up lying on the ground. The last thing she remembered was being hit by something in the back of the head, and then, nothing. She figured she had been knocked out again, and that her Dad was beating up that Makura like she knows he can. She tried hard to listen for the sounds of battle, the clink of steel on steel, or the sound of a blow striking the ground after a well thought out dodge.
But, there was silence. The next thought was that her father had beaten Makura, and was sitting over her, or near her, waiting for her to wake up with Sheik. Still nothing, not even the sound of wind through the canyon.
Rina was reluctant to open her eyes, but she slowly opened them to see: white. That was all she could see, she tilted her head to the side, nothing but white. When she realized that she was conscious, she waited for the pain to kick in. After all, she had been in a fight.
Again, nothing. It was if she had been completely healed. She rolled up her sleeve to check on the nasty bruise she had obtained during her last fight with their captors. It was not there. The spot where she had a bluish/greenish/blackish bruise now just looked like the fight had never happened. She slowly got up, and saw that she was standing on whiteness. She looked around from her new view point, and saw that there was nothing that resembled a horizon.
Now that she was freaked out, she reached for her bow and got out an arrow. She aimed it high in the air, and then shot it, to see if she could find this place’s ceiling. The arrow soared about 50 feet into the air, and the made a graceful arc toward the ground, where it disappeared once it hit. The arrow didn’t hit anything, and had mysteriously appeared in her hand again. Startled, she threw it to the ground, only to have it disappear there, and reappear in her hand. She set the arrow again, and this time shot it far, to see where the wall was. The same thing happened, and the arrow ended up in her hand.
“Ok,” Rina thought out loud since it was way to quiet. “It seems like either this place is huge, or there is no ceiling or walls. Ok, this is new.”
Rina turned around to see a pair of giant stone doors, with the Triforce engraved on them both. She walked up to them and looked at them. They were about 16-17 feet tall, and about 5 feet wide each. There were two handles on the doors, so she grabbed them and pulled. The doors didn’t budge, so Rina thought that they might be push doors. She put all of her might into pushing the doors, but it was as if someone had just made something that looked like doors out of stone.
Discouraged, Rina walked away from the doors, and then began to feel very strange. This feeling was not normal, but it was something she had felt before. Then it hit her, it was the same feeling that she had felt when Sheik had used her body, and she was just a spirit. But that would mean that she was not in her body. Rina looked down at her hands and her clothes. She didn’t realize this before, but all the colors, even her skin color, had faded.
“It’s almost like I’m dead…” Rina said, trailing off at the end.
“That is because you ARE.” A stern yet kind voice said from behind her.
Rina whipped around to see three women standing in front of the doors. They each had their own main color. The one in the middle wore a long scarlet robe, with a single golden triangle, and a golden rope tied around her waist. She had dark orange red hair that was tied back, and she had shard orange red eyes. She was holding a long white staff with an orb at the top that had four different colored plates on it. Rina recognized it as the Rod of Seasons. The woman to her right had the same kind of robe, only it was a deep cerulean blue. Her hair was also a clear bright blue, and her eyes were soft and caring, colored a deep blue like the ocean. She was holding a pink and blue harp that Rina recognized as the Harp of Ages. The final women to the red one’s left was in a deep emerald green robe. Her bright forest green hair was tied up in two buns on the sides of her head. Her intelligent eyes were shaded a deep green, and she was holding a bright book with a golden triangle on it. Judging from how high they were to the door, Rina guessed that each of them was over 6 ½ feet tall. Each of them also had a pair of feather golden wings on their back.
“Welcome Rina, to Death.” The woman in red said. “We are the three goddesses that created Hyrule and the Triforce. I am Din, the Goddess of Power.”
“I am Nayru, the Goddess of Wisdom.” The woman in blue said.
“And I am Farore, the Goddess of Courage.” The green woman chimed in.
Rina just stared at them, her mouth open. Not knowing what to make of it, she tried turn and run, but she ran into something. Apparently, there was a wall behind her, but she couldn’t see it.
“You cannot escape Death, Rina.” Din said. “But, it is not your time to die. Not yet at least. You are needed for the future, and the future that needs you cannot happen with Makura’s defeat.”
“But he killed me, how am I going to get back to Hyrule if I’m dead?”
“Did you forget that we MADE Hyrule child? If we made the Triforce, I believe we can do something as simple as bring a Hylian back to life.” Farore said.
“Sheesh, Goddesses…” Rina mumbled under her breath.
“Before we send you back though,” Nayru said in her kind voice. “We need to give you a few things so that you can defeat Makura. As you know, he is no regular enemy; even the Hero of Time cannot defeat him.”
Rina froze. “You mean, he’s either dead, or is going to die in this fight?”
“He won’t. We can tell you that, because you are going to save him.” Din said in a softer voice than before.
“But what exactly are you going to give me?” Rina asked puzzled.
“Well, I am going to awaken your ‘inherited power’ so that you can match Makura’s new found strength.” Farore said with a grin.
“I am going to enchant your shield, so that it can block all further dark magic that Makura might try to use on you.” Nayru said tilting her head to the side.
“And I am going to power up your sword so that it has the ability to fully kill that evil man.” Din said with an evil grin on her face.
The three goddesses began to walk toward Rina. She didn’t know what came over her, but she slowly began to take steps backwards. First, she reached back to see if that wall was still there, which it wasn’t. After taking a few more steps back, she whipped around and broke out into a run.
Din sighed, “Hylians.” She raised her hand into the air, and Rina ran smack dab into another invisible wall.
“Why would you run if you knew you were going to get a second chance? We are going to let you go back to your old life, even though you died.” Nayru said in her gentle voice.
They had caught up with Rina, who was sitting on the ground. They seemed even taller than they had before. Rina tried to make a run for it again, but she hit the wall with her back, and gave up.
“Why would goddesses like you want to help a mortal like me?” Rina said, backed into a corner that she knew she couldn’t get herself out of.
Din got a smug look on her face. She bent down, stared her in the eyes. Then with a laugh, Din grabbed the front of Rina’s tunic and stood up. She held Rina in the air and began to talk.
“That’s right, mortal. Why should we bring you back to life? Heck, why should we even let you into the after life? We could just destroy your spirit and make it like you never existed. And do you want to know why? Because we created this world, and we have the power to do it! Take the Triforce for example. To you, it may seem like the most powerful thing in the world, but it only has 1/5 of our combined powers. To us, it’s more like junk.”
Din eye’s glowed like fire while she said this. To Rina, it seemed like this would be the end. That she would truly die at the hands of a goddess who created the world. But she noticed Din’s eye glance over to Nayru’s face. The sympathy on her face made Din’s fiery eyes dim to the soft light of a candle. Din opened her hand, and let Rina fall to the ground.
“Now, it’s time to give you the tools to defeat Makura!” Farore said to break the awkward silence that had fallen.
“Yeah, you need to get back there so that you can send that creep to us. Then the real fun begins.” Din said with a small flicker of that flame in her eyes again.
“Yes!” Nayru said with a smile. “Rina, could you please give Din and myself your sword and shield? That way we can bless them! Farore needs your hand to give you her gift.”
“Ok…” Rina said softly, handing over the sword and shield her father had made her, and then walking over to Farore.
“This is not going to hurt a bit. Please stretch out your right hand!” Farore said with a faint twinkle in her eyes.
Rina stretched out her hand, which Farore grasped in her two hands. A small golden glow shone from between her fingers, and Rina felt a slight tingling feeling, like when your hand goes numb. Then the light faded, and Farore took her hands away from Rina’s. On the back of Rina’s hand was the Triforce, but only one section of the three triangles was light up. Upon closer examination, Rina noticed it was the same mark her father had on the back of his right hand, which he called, The Triforce of Courage.
“This is the power you are destined to have. Once your father passes it onto you, you will have this power for real. This is the same thing, but it is only temporary. Meaning, it will leave once you have defeated Makura. The same goes for the powers that are now on your sword and shield.” Farore said, looking at Rina’s face, which was filled with awe at the triangles on her hand.
“We are done over here!” Din said, holding Rina’s sword, which was now glowing with a small golden fire around the blade.
“Now we have to send you back!” Nayru said, holding Rina’s now sparkling shield.
Rina got her equipment back, and the goddesses stood in front of her in a line. They reached out their hands, and a golden light surrounded Rina. She saw the mark of the Triforce glowing on the white ground. She looked back at the goddesses one last time, and barely heard Din speak.
“We will be waiting for you once your time comes.” There was as a smile on her face. Rina smiled back and waved, as the goddesses, the stone doors, and the world of white faded before her eyes.
---------------------------------------
Back in Ikana Canyon, Link and Sheik were surrounded. Makura had called on the villagers of the near by town to help him fight, since they thought he was there king.
“This is not looking good for us Link.” Sheik grumbled, parrying a villagers attempt to stab her with a steak knife.
“You think?” Link replied, knocking a long metal pole out of the hands of an angry man. “I don’t know how we are going to win this.”
“Win the fight?” Sheik half laughed, “I wonder if we are going to make it out of here alive!”
“The end is nearing!” Makura laugh rang through out the battle field. “Even if you give up now, I will not spare you. Don’t worry Link; you will be reunited with your failure of a daughter sooner than you thought!”
Link gritted his teeth and tears streamed down his face as her fought off some more villagers. He could never bring himself to tell Romani that their only daughter had died.
But then, there was a change in the cloudy sky. The fight stopped, and everyone looked up as a small portion of the clouds disappeared.
“What is going on?” Makura barked, also watching the clouds.
From the opening, a small bright white orb slowly fell from the sky. It was about the size of a tennis ball, and it was light with a bright white flame. It descended from the heavens, and slowly came to rest over Rina’s body.
The orb positioned itself above Rina’s heart, and was absorbed into her body. Her body then shone with a golden light, especially her right hand. After a bright flash of golden light, Rina’s body moved. As she stood up, her right hand was washed in golden light, as the three triangles formed, with the Triforce of Courage glowing brighter than all the rest.

THE FINAL BATTLE
---------------------------------
“Well, well, well.” Makura laughed. “Just when I had thought I killed you, you decide to come back. Don’t worry, this time, that won’t happen.”
“I beg to differ. This time, you will be the one who has to stare death in the face.”
“Is that a challenge?” Makura chuckled. “You better watch what you say little girl, all’s far in a fight to the death.”
“Stop that Rina, there is no way you can defeat him on your own.” Link shouted over to his daughter. He was so happy to see her again; he was not going to let her throw her life away right after she got it back.
“No Dad, I know what I am doing. The only reason I was able to come back was to fight him and kill him. And that’s what I plan to do.” Rina began to walk through the crowds of Ikananian, and right up to Makura.
“Don’t worry Rina; we are going to be right here to help you!” Sheik said as Rina came face to face with Makura.
“That is not going to happen.” Makura said as he lifted up his hand. A wall of light surrounded the two of them, making it so no one could interfere.
“No!” Link yelled as he ran over to the wall and slammed his hand into it. He got a blot of energy in return, and was flung into one of the people standing behind him.
“This is between your daughter and me, old man. There is nothing you can do to interfere with our fight.” Makura grinned as he looked at the look on Link’s face.
“Don’t worry Dad.” Rina said as she walked over to the wall. “I have been given some gifts that I’m going to put to good use.” Rina smiled.
Link saw the courage in her eyes, she was going to do this and there was nothing he could do about it. Right then, his eyes glanced to the Triforce on her hand; it was the same as his. He didn’t know how it was possible for both of them to have the Triforce of Courage, but he knew that it would help her.
“Go get him.” Link said, with a faint smile.
“Enough! Let’s get on with this battle!” Makura said, growing impatient.
“I’m coming, Sheesh!” Rina groaned as she gave her father one last smile, and turned to face the Heir of Ganon.
“You don’t know how long I have been waiting to do this, Rina.” Makura smiled evilly. “Ever since we met in Castle Town, I had a feeling that we would come face to face on the field of battle. I’m just glad I am the one who gets to kill you.” “That’s where you are wrong,” Rina said with an evil smirk on her face. “You are the one who won’t make it out of this battle.”
“Enough beating around the bush, it’s time to fight!” Makura unsheathed his sword and charged at Rina.
Rina didn’t even have time to blink. She was barley able to dodge his blow and get out her own sword, which was glowing thanks to Din.
“What? What happened to your sword? It wasn’t like that before!” Makura blurted out as he dodged Rina’s countering blow.
“Like it? The goddesses gave it to me so I could beat your sorry self.” Rina said, taking another blow that just missed.
“It’s going to take more than a glowing letter opener to defeat me!” Makura shouted with a parry.
Rina blocked it easily. “You wanna bet?” Rina quickly sliced her sword at Makura, and was able to severely cut his left arm.
The wound on Makura’s arm began to glow, and he howled in pain. Falling to his knees and dropping his sword, he grabbed his arm.
“What the heck did you do to me?” Makura roared, his eyes glaring like a ravaging animal.
“I told you, the goddesses want you to go, and they decided to let me help them.” Rina said, resting her sword on her shoulder. “They are willing to bring me back to life to send you to them.”
Makura stood up, glaring at Rina, and picked up his sword, “I am going to kill you, if it takes everything I have. I am going to kill you!”
He rushed at Rina with his sword in front of him. He was coming much faster than he had with his first strike. All Rina could do was duck, but Makura kept charging, and ran into her. He being a fare amount bigger than Rina, she was sent flying into the wall of light surrounding them, and was badly shocked.
“Who is going to die now?” Makura laughed evil, he was now blind with rage after the wound he had gotten from Rina’s holy sword.
Rina slumped to the ground after the shock she had received stopped. It was more than electricity; it almost seemed to suck the energy right out of her. Then she slowly looked over to her right hand. The Triforce of Courage was blazing in a golden light. She smiled as she looked at it; it seemed like the goddesses were telling her not to quit, and to get back up on her feet and take care of this freak.
She felt the energy coming back to her, but it was too late. Makura was standing right over her with his sword raised in the air, and the point strait down, aimed at her head. She quickly picked up her sword, and dashed to the side, missing the sword, which got stuck half a foot into the ground.
Makura didn’t even bother to try to get his weapon out, and bolt over to Rina. She saw darkness gathering in his hands, and she knew that she had to do it now. His eyes were glazed over in blind fury, so he shouldn’t notice what she was going to do.
“Please, let this hit.” Rina whispered as she stuck her sword out in front of her, the blade in line with Makura’s torso.
She closed her eyes. There was the sickening sound of the glowing blade penetrating darkness made flesh. Rina slowly opened her eyes, to see only the hilt of her sword, sticking from Makura’s body; the sword had gone straight through.
He bent over slightly, making his face level with Rina’s. His eyes were beginning to lose there color, he was slowing dyeing. Rina noticed that there wasn’t blood coming from the impalement. There was a sizzling sound, and steam was coming from her blade. The power the Din had embedded in the sword was eating away at Makura’s evil soul.
Makura was still glaring at Rina. “I will find a way to get you back. Mark m….” Makura trailed off on the last word. He was dead.
The barrier of light disappeared, and so did Makura’s body. Rina’s sword, still glowing, fell to ground, making a loud clanking sound that broke the silence of death.
The crowd of people rushed over to Rina. She braced herself, thinking that the enraged townspeople were going to kill her for killing their king, but they didn’t. They all began cheering for her.
“Thank you so much, oh mighty Rina. You have gotten rid of the evil cloud that has had control over us. You have our entire peoples’ eternal gratitude.” An older man standing right next to her said. “I am the Ikana peoples’ elder. Trust me, young one; your story will be told many times.”
The next thing Rina knew, she was knocked into by someone. She turned around to see her father had hugged her, and he was crying.
“Rina, I was so worried about you! But with that look of courage in your eyes before the fight, I knew you would turn out the victory!” Link had Rina in an air tight hug, as she struggled to get free so she could breathe again. After a few seconds, her father let her go.
Sheik came over and patted her so hard on that back, the wind was knocked out of her, and Rina collapsed onto the ground.
“Woops! Sorry about that! That was incredible Rina!” Sheik said with a smile.
With all of the celebrating going on, Rina should have been really happy, but she wasn’t totally happy. She watched as the light around her sword disappeared. She then looked at her right hand. She sadly watched as the Triforce slowly disappeared from her hand.

Epilogue
-------------------------------
One year had pasted since Rina fought and killed Makura, and freed the people of Ikana. During that year, many things had changed for her. First of all, her mother, Romani, had died of a rare and almost unknown disease. Following the death of her mother, Rina’s aunt Cremia came to live on the Romani Ranch with Rina and Link. Aunt Cremia brought along her husband, and her son, Rina’s cousin, Jake.
Rina had also hung up her sword and shield and went back to helping ranch the cows that they owned on their ranch with Slate. She still wore her tunic though; it was just something that she couldn’t just hang up for later use. It had become a part of her. She also was the one who would ride into Clock Town and deliver the Romani Milk to the town’s local Milk Bar. She had met some pretty interesting people there, so it was never a boring trip. Rina had also turned 16.
One day, while she was lying in the grass, “watching the cows” she had a sense of nostalgia. She smiled as she remembered that this feeling she was having was because it reminded her of what she had seen while she was unconscious after she had been kidnapped. She laughed a half laugh, and Slate (who was grazing near by, the only one actually doing the job of watching the cows) looked over at her and tilted his head.
“Don’t worry Slate, it’s nothing.” She said back with a smile. Recently, her adventure had been that last thing on her mind, but she was glad that she had revisited it, if even for a short moment.
“Hey! Rina! Uncle Link wants to see you!”
“Coming Jake!” Rina groaned. She loved her cousin, honestly she did, but his voice was so annoying! And he was ruining her trip down memory lane!
Rina got up, and got on Slate, who jumped since he hadn’t seen her get up.
“Come on you cows! You’ve eaten enough for your four stomachs! Back to the barn with all of you!”
Rina had found out that cows responded better to informal language, so that’s how she talked to them. Painstakingly, the cows drudged back to the barn, saddened that their all day meal had been cut short.
Once all of the cows had entered the barn, she got off Slate and went inside their farm house. Rina creaked open the old wooden door to see her father sitting at the kitchen table.
“What’s up dad? The way Jake said it, it sounded like you had something important to tell me?”
“Yes I do.” Link said getting up. “We are going to go on a little trip, just the two of us. Don’t worry, it will only be about a two or three days. Can you go get Eponia and Slate ready for us?”
“’Course Dad!” Rina said with a smile as she skipped out the door. Finally! They were going to go somewhere together! This day couldn’t get any better!
After about a half hour, the four of them were ready to go. Rina was glad to have her sword and shield back on her back, and the only reason she grabbed them was because she saw Link grabbing them, so she figured that they would come in handy.
“Where are we going anyway?” Rina said while getting on Slate.
“Hyrule, there is something very important that we have to do there, and it must be done soon.”
“Hyrule? That’s great! I haven’t been there for so long!” Rina was beaming, they were going to Hyrule!
----------------------------------
After traveling for half a day, the two were once again within Hyrule’s borders. Link told Rina that they were headed to Castle Town, and they just got her even happier.
When they reached there, they just made it in before the gates closed for the night, like they did every night. They had to hurry and find some place to spend the night, and since all of the Inns were full, it was going to be difficult.
Rina then bumped into a blast from her past. It was Trevor! Rina was so happy to see him again, that she gave him a hug, which scared him because she came from behind. When they told him what was going on, he was more than happy to invite them to stay at his house for the night.
Once it was morning, Rina and Link got up early, and headed to the Temple of Time. Rina had never been there, and was excited as ever to go. They stopped in front of the marble steps, and Link began to say something.
“This place hasn’t changed a bit.” There was a trace of happiness in his voice. Rina could do nothing but smile.
They walked up the steps and enter the grand building. They main room was made completely of marble, and (even though it was very a very old temple) it seemed to sparkle. Besides themselves, there were two other people there, one was a woman, and the other was a boy, who looked about Rina’s age.
“Nice to see you again Link.” The woman said who Rina recognized as Zelda. “It’s nice to see you too Rina.”
“How have you been Zelda?” Link said as he and Rina walked over to them. “Who might this be?”
“This is my son, Prince Rith; he’s the same age as Rina.” Zelda said with a smile.
Rith and Rina looked at each other, blushed, and then looked away. Rith made it look like he was examining the fine marble wall and Rina was looking at the golden Royal Family Symbol that was placed about the entrance.
“Shall we get the ritual started then, if you two are ready?” Link said, beginning to walk over to a long black marble table on the other side of the room.
“Yes, we are. I brought the three gems, and I can guess that you have the Ocarina?”
“Don’t go anywhere with out it!” Link said, pulling the glistening blue Ocarina of Time out.
“What exactly are we going to do?” Rina said, catching up with her father.
“You’ll both see soon.” Zelda said in a mysterious voice.
Rina and Rith looked at each other with puzzled looks.
They stopped in front of the black marble table, and Zelda pulled out three glittering gems. One was an emerald, next was a ruby, and finally there was a sapphire. Zelda put them in small indentations on the table, and Link put the ocarina to his mouth. He began to play the Song of Time.
Behind the table, there was a pair of stairs, leading to a platform that had big stone door with the Triforce engraved on it. While Link was playing, the three gems began to glow, and the stone door began to slide away. Once he had finished, there was now an entrance to a short hallway, and Rina could just barely see the room that was on the other end.
“Shall we continue?” Link said as he put the ocarina away, and Zelda gathered the gems.
They all walked down the hallway together, and came to an octagon shaped room. There were giant windows on each side of the room, and the light from those windows bathed the entire room. In the middle, there was a large platform, with a smaller one of top of it. On the smaller platform, there was a pedestal with a sword sticking out of it. Link and Zelda started to walk towards the sword, so Rith and Rina followed.
“Rina, give me your right hand.” Link said when the reached the sword. He also stretched out his left hand.
“Rith, you also give me your right hand.” Zelda said.
When Rina’s hand touched her fathers, there was a golden glow. The glow came from the back of his left hand, and then slowly faded away. Seconds later, the glow appeared on her hand, and something started to appear on her hand. It was the Triforce of Courage. Rina looked at Link speechless.
“It’s time I passed on what you were destined to inherit. I have had it for too many years, and now you deserve it. I would have given it to you last year, but things got a little to heck tick.”
Rina noticed that Rith also got a piece of the Triforce. His was the Triforce of Wisdom, from Zelda. Rina smiled, it was the best thing that had happened to her for a long time. She smiled as she felt the familiar warm power that came from the Triforce, and then she remembered what Farore had told her:
“This is the power you are destined to have. Once your father passes it onto you, you will have this power for real…”
The words echoed for a moment, and then Rina smiled, and looked down at the three glowing triangles that were once again on her hand.

this was originally posted around christmas time, but i wanted to enclude it! XD
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: RINA’S ADVENTURE AND BLUE_THE_PIKACHU PRESENT: ONCE APON A SNOWHEAD CLEAR!!
On top of the great mountain Snowhead in Termania, a group of three people were braving the snow to climb to the summit of the mountain. There was a man with blond hair, a woman with reddish brown hair, and their daughter, who looked very similar to her father. They all had backpacks carrying supplies for their quest up the mountain.
“When are we going to get to the ski lodge dad?” the girl said against the wind.
“Be patient Rina, we are almost there!” her father said looked back at her and smiling.
“Link, seriously, how much farther is it?” the women said, straining under her backpack.
“It’s only about a few more miles Romani. Don’t worry.” Link said softly to his wife.
The group was going on a skiing trip on the famous slopes of Snowhead. They had planned it months before and Rina had been very excited about it. But when they had found out that the main rode was closed due to an avalanche, and that they had to climb up the side of the mountain, her enthusiasm had died a little.
“There is it!” Rina said, pointed at the top of a building that had appeared over the top of a far off snowdrift. “I can’t wait to get out of this cold and into the warm ski lodge.”
When they got inside, they walked over to the counter and got their room keys. Rina grabbed her key and ran to find her room so she could change out of her wind blown clothes.
“Let’s see, 56…57….58½…ah! There is it! Room 61 and I have it all to myself!” Rina flung the door open and threw her backpack on the big bed in the center of the room. “Ahh…now to get out of these traveling clothes!”
After she had changed, Rina went downstairs to relax in front of the giant fireplace. There were so many people staying at the lodge, ranging from Hylians to Gorons and a few Dekus that could be spotted from time to time.
Rina was too busy caught up in the crowd that she bumped into a girl, spilling her hot chocolate all over the wooden floor.
“Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry.” Rina said, helping the girl up. “Are you ok? Did the hot chocolate burn you at all?”
“No I’m fine. I just wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing.” The girl said with a smile. “Hi, my name is Blue. What’s your name?”
“Um…my name is Rina. Are you here for skiing too?”
“Kinda. I came with my friends and my sister. We mainly came here to get away from it all before we have to go back to school.”
“School? You’re not from around here are you?”
“No, but this place is pretty well known, so we decided to check it out!”
“BLUE! Come on! Let’s go to our room and unpack!” a girl carrying luggage yelled from half way up the stairs. There were two boys a head of her also carrying luggage.
“Coming Koneko! Sorry, I have to go right now. See you around?”
“Of course! I hope we can go skiing or something tomorrow!”
“That would be fun!” Blue waved to Rina and went up the stairs to join her sister Koneko.
“She seems nice.” Romani said from behind Rina.
Rina jumped. “Mom?! Why did you sneak up on me?”
“I didn’t want to get in your way.” Romani said as she smiled and hugged Rina.
--------------------------------
The next day, Rina got up and went down to the dinning room for some breakfast.
“Wow, they sure have a lot of stuff here.” Rina said, looking at all of the different kinds of food lay out on many tables. “I guess they want to make sure they have something for everything.”
After grabbing a bagel, Rina sat down at a small table near the windows and began to eat. There weren’t many people in the room, since it was still early, then Rina saw a group of four people walk in.
“Wow! Look at all the different kinds of food!” One of the girls exclaimed. “This place is amazing!”
“Just don’t eat too much Koneko.” The girl standing next to her say. “We don’t want to have a huge bill to pay!”
The one girl looked familiar; she had blue hair and green eyes. Then it hit Rina. It was that girl named Blue from yesterday. Rina’s and Blue’s eyes met and they exchanged grins.
“Hey Rina!” Blue said waving.
“Is that the girl you met yesterday Blue?” Koneko asked looking at Rina.
“Yep! She said that she is staying here too, and asked if we could all go skiing or something together today. You guys wouldn’t mind would you?”
“No, the more the merrier right?” the tall boy with dark black hair said smiling.
Blue turned to the boy next to him. He had very pale skin and light hair.
“Doesn’t matter to me.”
“Thanks Fireblade and Polt!” Blue said waving Rina over.
Rina walked over, still holding her bagel.
Blue pointed at the boy with dark hair then the paler boy, “This is my friend Fireblade. And this is Polter.”
“Hello, my name is Rina.”
“So what do you want to do today?” Koneko said to the group.
“Well..” Fireblade started. “I wanted to go snowboarding.”
“I was going to go skiing.” Polter replied.
“Fireblade said he was going to TRY and teach me how to snowboard…” Blue said.
“What about you Rina. What do you want to do? I’m going to go skiing with Polter.” Koneko said.
“I guess I’ll go skiing with you guys. Just be warned, I’ve never skied before.”
“Neither have I, but Polter is really good at it, so he should be able to help us!”
So the two groups spilt up to go out on the slopes.
-----------------------------------
Three hours later, the groups met back in the lodge’s lobby. Both were exhausted and in need of some hot chocolate.
“So Koneko, how did you do?” Blue asked her sister.
“Pretty good I think! I didn’t fall down to many times. Neither did Rina. She was really good at it!”
“It was pretty easy once you got the hang of it!” Rina said smiling.
“How did you guys do Fireblade?” Polter asked.
“It was fun…” Fireblade started.
“…To bad I fell down so many times.” Blue said.
“Well, let’s all get something to drink, and then we can relax for the rest of the day.” Koneko said.
--------------------------------
At the end of the weekend, everyone had to say good bye. Rina hugged Blue and Koneko good bye, hoping that someday they might meet again. It had been an amazing Christmas after all, too bad they had to climb back down the side of the mountain.
[glow=green,2,300]MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE![/glow]
