Inside Zora’s Domain, things had gotten very crazy. With the help of five eye witnesses, the Zoras had captured the REAL crook, the thief named Sakon. The witnesses had quickly called upon the Zora guards, and they had him locked up in the cell behind the waterfall, awaiting his punishment. Even though there was some celebrating, most of the Zora officials felt really bad, and really stupid. They had condemned an innocent girl so hastily, with an unjust trial. They HAD to find a way to get her out of Lord Jabu Jabu before it was too late. The officials called a “village” meeting at Lord Jabu Jabu’s shrine to work out what they were going to do about the girl.
“Ok everyone, settle down!” Fin roared at the large crowd from atop the front of the shrine. “We have called this meeting to discuss how we are going to get that innocent girl out of Lord Jabu Jabu.”
The crowd became even loader. Fin kept trying to calm them down, but they wouldn’t listen to a word he said. Fin looked over at Princess Ruto. She was looking down at the water in front of the shrine, laid down with grief. She had known it was wrong, Fin thought to herself, but all of us were just looking for a quick solution, not caring if what we were doing was right or wrong.
“What are we going to do now Fin?” one of the Zora officials next to him asked. The question snapped Fin out of his thoughts.
“I don’t know. It doesn’t seem like we will be able to calm this crowd down enough. I guess we are going to have to wait it out for a while.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back inside the whale, Rina watched the Zora who had saved her try and think of a way out.
“Face it, I don’t think we are going to be getting out of here any time soon, so I think you can stop looking. It’s pretty hopeless.”
“Don’t say that!” the Zora snapped at her. “Don’t give up so easily! Trust me, I speak from experience. Giving up never solves anything!”
Rina was a little taken back at his snippy remark, but it had brought her back to her senses. Her father would not want her to give up hope without trying her hardest that she could. Now that she thought about it, the Zora reminded her a little of her father. Always cool and collected in crisis. She smiled at the thought, and got up to try and help the Zora.
“What are you doing?” the Zora asked her.
“I’m going to help you. Also, thanks for what you said. It got me thinking about stuff my dad had told me before. I’m not down yet!” Rina said, thrusting her fist into the air as a sign of triumph. The Zora looked at her with disbelief, and then smiled.
“Ok, I think I know what we have to do. We have to try and put pressure on the whale’s jaw. I think that will make him open his mouth long enough for us to escape.”
“Really? That sounds so simple, it’s worth a try. We’ve got nothing to lose right?”
The two stood next to each other at the front of Jabu Jabu’s mouth. They looked at each other and nodded. Placing both of their hands on the roof of the mouth, they began to push. Rina was amazed at how strong the Zora was, and tried to push with all of her might.
Slowly, the jaw began to open. They kept pushing, the opening becoming wider and wider, until it was out of their reach. On the other side, they could see Zoras, looking at the whale’s mouth in shock. Thinking that the whale was going to try and eat them, they all began to run.
Even after they had stopped pushing, Jabu Jabu opened its mouth all the way and they walked out. The crowd of Zoras stared at them opened mouthed. Rina noticed that the look on the Zora, the one that helped her, had changed. Now it seemed to be full of rage. She couldn’t believe that he was so mad at his own people.
The Zora lead Rina off the platform and in front of the crowd. Rina noticed that his arms were shaking with anger, and she was wondering what he was going to do to the other Zoras.
“I can’t believe you.” The Zora started. “Hastily punishing a poor, innocent girl with an unjust trail, you disgust me. I had respect for the Zora tribe, all ways so wise, understanding and just. But your actions have provoked me to think other wise. Such rash uncivilized behavior towards one of another race, and a female at that. I know that you were upset at what had been happening to your people, and that you all wanted to see an end to it, but jumping the first person you think is suspicious and punishing them in the harshest way you can does not seem like the proud Zoras that I once knew. Now, I don’t know what to think of you.”
Fin stepped up from the crowd. “Who are you to judge? You talk that way against your own people? That is what I call disgusting. It’s disgraceful that you side with that human against your entire race. You talk as if you know everything, while you are still just one of us, but siding against your friends and family? Peh! We know what we did was wrong, but you have no right go and judge us.” Fin yelled, pointing his finger at the lone Zora.
The Zora began to laugh. Then putting his hand over his face, he sighed. “I can’t believe you haven’t realized yet. I know it’s good, but you would think that it couldn’t even fool you. I thought you would know me better.”
“What are you blabbering about now?” Fin barked.
“The fact that you haven’t realized exactly who I am.” The Zora said with a proud grin. “How would we know who you are? The guards told us that you are from Great Bay, how would we know you if you come from another country?” Fin said, filled with spite.
“Oh no, that is just what I said to get in here. I was actually born here, in Hyrule. Many years ago, probably while you were still very young. This is my first time back on this soil for sometime now. I know there is one of you who should remember me, seeing as I have saved your tribe twice before.” The Zora said, looking over at Princess Ruto.
“That is blasphemy! If you have saved us before, any Zora would be able to tell your face from others.”
“But I never said I saved you looking like this.”
The Zora put both hands next to his face. Purple waves of magic began to pulse from his hands. Then, there was a bright light. Rina looked away and shielded her eyes, as did the rest of the Zoras.
After the light had vanished, Rina was the first to look over at the Zora. But he was not a Zora any more. He was…her father?!

Rina and all of the Zoras just stared, open mouthed, at Link. No one said anything for a long time, and then Rina broke the awkward silence.
“DAD?! That was you?!” Rina finally said.
Then the Zoras finally spoke, “DAD?”
“Yes,” Link started, turning to face the Zoras and putting his arm around Rina. “This is my daughter, Rina.”
One of the Zoras in the crowd fainted, and there was a short commotion over taking him to the Zora hospital in the Domain.
After everything settled down, Fin turned to the elders. “Are you telling me that we wrongfully accused and punished the Hero of Time’s daughter?” Fin whispered. “There is no way he is going to let us live…”
Fin stopped mid sentence at the feeling of a hand on his shoulder. He turned around to see Link standing behind him, smiling.
“How can you ever find it in your heart to forgive us?” Fin pleaded, dropping to the ground.
“I don’t know if I can do that. I am still enraged at what you did to my only daughter. But, I am not going to kill you.” Link said with a smile.
“You are to kind. Is there anyway we can try and make it up to you?” Fin said, standing up.
“I don’t know right now, but if I come to need your help, I will let you know.” Link said, reaching out his hand.
“It’s a deal!” Fin said, shaking Link’s hand.
“Now that that is all said and done; Rina, we’re going.” Link said, turning around to yell to his daughter, still in shock from what had happened.
“Leaving so soon?” Fin asked Link.
“I have a wife to get home to in Termania. If you don’t know, it’s a very long journey. I want to get back to her as soon as possible.”
“I see…” Fin trailed off. “Good luck on your travels. I hope you arrive their safely.”
“Thank you. And don’t worry; I will be back some day. You just don’t know when!”
“I can’t wait.”
Rina walked over to Link and the two of them left the Domain. Once they were on the shores of Lake Hylia again, Link gave Rina a hug.
“I thought I had lost you Rina.” Link said, hugging Rina tighter.
“I’m fine Dad. Really I am. What are you going to do to those Zoras? Are you ever going to forgive them?”
“I don’t know. What they did was incredibly wrong. I could take this matter to the King and Queen of Hyrule and have them all killed, but that wouldn’t solve anything. I think I’ll just let them live with their guilt for the time being.”
“You are so nice Dad.”
Link blushed as his daughter said this. After a lovely father daughter moment, the two began to move on into Hyrule Field.
“By the way Rina, I talked to the owner of the Lon Lon Ranch. I sorted everything out with her.”
“Yeah….” Rina said looking off into the distance. “Thanks Dad. But listen! I HAD to get Slate back! I told him to run when we were under attack by this group of Stalchilds, and I got knocked out and….it’s a long story.”
“Well, once we get out of Hyrule, you can tell me everything.”
Rina smiled. “I don’t know if you will believe some parts of it though. It was really weird.”
“Try me! I have seen weirder before you were born than you could have in a few days!”
“You never know. Some strange things happened. Involving Gerudos, a strange village, those Stalchilds, and this one guy.”
“What did this guy do to you?” Link had perked up when he herd the word ‘guy’.
“Nothing! I saved him that’s all!”
Link looked at Rina. “Hmmm….ok.”
All of a sudden, there was a loud rumbling sound. Link and Rina looked around until they found out what it was. What looked like a huge bolder was rolling down the side of Death Mountain into Hyrule Field. At the angle it was rolling, it could head towards Castle Town.
“Rina, stay here. I’m going to stop that bolder.”
“What?! How can you stop something that big rolling that fast? I’m going to help you!”
“NO! Stay back. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Link ran off in the direction of the bolder. When he was far enough away, Rina began to run after him.

When Link had reached the boulder, he put on his iron boots and braced himself for the impact. He knew it was not a boulder, but Rina did not. He saw her following him and he got nervous about what she might do to the “boulder”.
Rina when caught up to her father, she rushed over to help him. “What are you doing Dad? Why don’t you just slice the boulder in half?”
Link had expected some kind of question like this. “Because then the two halves could continue rolling and destroy something! Stopping it in its tracks is the most logical solution.”
“But how are you going to withstand the weight? I’m pretty sure it weighs more than you do.” She hadn’t noticed his iron boots, which looked a lot like normal leather boots, but had a thick coating of hard shiny, iron on the bottom, making him stronger than any boulder.
“I have a way. Don’t worry about me, just watch.” The boulder was a mere ten feet away. “Step aside Rina, I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Rina took a few steps back as the boulder collided with Link. She gasped and couldn’t see anything because of the dust that rose up.
Inside the dust, Link had grabbed hold of what was rolling, stopped it, and began to push it to the ground, so that he could talk with it.
When the dust cleared, Rina saw her father was ok, and that the boulder was lying neatly on the ground in front of him. But wait, the boulder began to move! Then Rina realized that it wasn’t a boulder at all! It was a Goron, one of the pride mountain people. Then she figured out why her father didn’t want to try and slice it, no sword could penetrate Goron hide!
Link took off his iron boots, since they made walking almost impossible, and went up to the Goron to ask him what was wrong. When he got up in front of him, the Goron was holding his head in his hand, obviously dizzy from the impact. When the Goron was back to his senses, he recognized Link and gave him a big Goron hug!
“Brother!” the Goron shouted. “We have awaited your return! We need your help with the mountain once again!”
“I guess Dad saved these guys too man, he must have had a lot of time on his hands! All the fighting he used to do was against those alien phantoms that have stopped coming to steal our cows.”
Link could barely breath, and began to struggle and gasp for air. The Goron saw this, and released him from the hug. Link caught his breath for a second, and then said to the Goron, “Calm down. Now what is wrong with Death Mountain? What’s going on this time?”
“Well,” The Goron started. “First of all him name is Flint, and now for the story. You remember Volvagia, that terrible monster that eats Gorons?”
“Yes, how could I forget? Ganon revived it, and set it out on your tribe. But what does that have to do with now? I killed it, and no one so far has come by with enough power as Ganon had to resurrect it again.”
“Well, you see…apparently Volvagia laid an egg, and now it hatched and is calling itself Volgavia. It swore that it would avenge its father.”
“Ok now THAT is weird. So, now Volvagia SON is attacking you guys? SHEESH! So, I’m guessing that it’s in the Fire Temple again?”
“Yep! But you better hurry, I know that this time no Gorons have been captured, but it might leave Death Mountain and come to our village.”
“Right, by the way…” Link started looking over at Rina who was listening to their conversation. “Flint, this is my daughter Rina.”
Before Rina knew what was going on, she was close to being crushed in Flint’s rocky arms.
“Oh Sister!” Flint cried. “I am so glad to have met you! Please help my Brother on his quest to vanquish the evil in out mountain!” There were literally tears streaming down his face.
“Of course I will, but can you please let me breath!” Rina gasped.
“Oh, OH! I am so sorry Sister. I was just so moved with joy and tears. Please forgive me!”
“Forget about it…” Rina said, with her hand on her chest trying to breath normally again. “Really I’m fine.”
“That’s good.” Link said relieved. “So, shall we be going to the Fire Temple now…..”
He was cut off by Flint. “I just remembered! Ever since you saved Hyrule those many years back, Biggoron has been preparing something for you. You should go see him first. Besides, there is an entrance to the volcanic center of Death Mountain that leads to the Fire Temple from there.”
“Wait a minute…Death Mountain is VOLCANIC? How are we going to survive?”
“Don’t worry Rina, there is a simple way. I will show you when we get there!”
After saying good bye to Flint, and narrowly dodging a second hug each, Rina and Link started up towards Death Mountain, but first they would have to pass through Kakoriko Village!

They reached Kakoriko’s gates at sun down. All of the shops were closed, and only a few house lights were still on. Although everything seemed peaceful, something was wrong. It was one of those things you could just feel in the air.
Link reached for his sword, and looked at Rina to do the same. She knew her dad was serious when he thought trouble was coming. He had so much experience after all!
They slowly walked through the center of the small mountain village, having gotten their swords and shields ready for an attack at any moment. When they came to some stairs that lead to one of the higher areas of the town, they took them slowly and quietly, so they could hear if something was coming.
“Don’t be scared Rina. I’m not going to let anything happen to you. We just have to get to Death Mountain.” Link said in a comforting voice. He could see Rina shaking out of the corner of his eye.
All of a sudden, they heard the sound of a twig snapping. They turned in that direction and froze swords out. When nothing else happened, they relaxed for a second, and continued on. They were slowly getting towards the gates that lead to the Death Mountain path.
When they got to the final row of house before the gate, Rina saw something move in the shadows between a nearby store and a house. She stopped for a second, and awaited some kind of attack, but there was nothing. She breathed a sigh of relief and went to catch up to her father.
Then all of a sudden, there was a high pitched shriek. It came from between the house and a different store. Rina all of a sudden was paralyzed with fear. She could not move any part of her body, she could barely breath. She strained to look over at her father, who was the same way. Then, slowly, something crept out from the long dark shadows formed by the house.
It looked like a human, well…its body did. Except it was very body, you could see every single bone in its body, with a thin layer of flesh covering them. The thing’s skin was a pale light brown, but the scariest part was its face. It wore what looked like a wooden mask with only three roughly cut holes in it. Two for eyes and one for a mouth, but you couldn’t tell there was anything behind it from what you could see. The holes looked like abysses, endless pits of darkness that almost seemed like they were trying to suck the light out of you.
Rina had never seen one before, but she knew what this terrifying creature was. It was a Redead, one of the undead come back to suck the life out of anything that came its way. Although it could never come back to the life it once had, it still went around killing any living thing it could get its pale boney hands on.
Rina couldn’t stop looking at its face, at the abysses it had for eyes. Just the sight of it kept her from moving. She noticed that her father had already broken from its control. He had told her he had fought many Redeads before, but this was her first one, and she was terrified!
Rina closed her eyes and tried to focus on something else, to break the Redeads control it had on her body. Slowly, she regained movement in her hands, then her arms, and soon she was able to move again. When she opened her eyes, she saw its “face” right in front of her. She screamed as loud as she could and shut her eyes again. The next thing she heard was the sound of a blade slicing. When she opened her eyes again, she saw the Redeads mangled body lying limp on the ground, her father had killed it!
“I’m sorry I let it get so close to you. I just underestimated it.” Link said softly to Rina. “Are you ok?”
“Yeah Dad, I’m fine.” Rina stopped. “THANK YOU SO MUCH!” She half shouted half as she hugged her dad. “I thought it was going to die.”
“It’s ok. I felt the same way when I first saw a Redead.” Link shivered. “I had to go through I whole temple filled with guys like that!”
“Really? I don’t ever want to go there!” Rina said in awe.
“I don’t want to go back either!” Link smiled. “Come on. We should get moving and try to get at least up some part the mountain. We don’t want to waste time with what the Gorons are being put through as we speak!”
Rina nodded, and they both put their swords away and began to run through the gates and up the path to the top of Death Mountain, where Biggoron awaited them.

When Link and Rina had made it a good distance from the Kakoriko Gate, they decided to take a break and rest. Link noticed that Rina was still shaking and very pale from their encounter with the Redead in the village. He put his arm around her shoulder and gave her a hug. Rina looked back at him, with tears in her eyes, and gave him a full out hug. It caught Link off guard for a second, but then he hugged her back.
“How much father do we have to go till we get to this ‘Biggoron’?” Rina asked, feeling better.
“Well, we have just passed the Dodongo’s Cave, and now there is much more climbing up the side of the mountain that we have to do. It gets harder from here, and there are normally many rock slides and volcanic eruptions from the top of Death Mountain, so you HAVE to be very careful.” Link replied.
Rina gulped. “What are we going to do if lava starts to come out?”
“Lava never comes out, it’s always flaming rocks or something like that. I have climbed this mountain many times and I have never seen lava on the outside.”
“You mean, you went INSIDE Death Mountain?” Rina was shocked.
“Of course. How else would I see the Gorons?”
“But wouldn’t you just burn up from the extreme heat?”
“Don’t worry; there is a way for us to go inside the mountain without dying from the heat! I’ll show you when we get there.”
After they had talked, they stood back up and continued to climb the side of the mountain. A few times, Rina just barely missed getting hit by gigantic flaming rocks or whatever falling from the sky, but Link had pulled her out of the way just in time. They finally reached the area that Biggoron lived after an hour of climb up the mountain and dodging volcanic stuff.
They were standing on a flattened platform of rock in the side of the mountain, with large circular walls around it. There were also to caves in the wall on the side connected to the mountain. Rina looked around, trying to find out where Biggoron was, but then all of a sudden, the cliff started to shake. Rina looked at her father, but he did not seem worried.
Then, something appeared from the other side of one of the circular rock walls. Rina gasped when she realized what it was. It was a giant Goron! In shock, Rina fell backwards, and ended up sitting on the ground, just staring open mouthed at the huge Goron.
“No wonder his name is BIGgoron!” Rina said to herself, still in awe.
Then, Biggoron began to speak in a booming voice, “Link? Is that you? It’s good to see you again old friend! It’s been way too long.”
“Yes it has. Now, I heard a few interesting things from a Goron named Flint. First, he said that this thing called Volgavia is tormenting you guys, and second that you wanted to see me.”
“Of course I do brother! After you saved Hyrule those many years ago and left, I started work on my best sword ever! I want you to have it! Just, let me go get it!” Then Biggoron disappeared behind the rocks again.
“Well, what do you think Rina?” Link said turning to where his daughter was standing before she fell. Link then noticed that she wasn’t there and didn’t even see her on the ground. He began to frantically look for Rina. When he finally noticed she was on the ground, he saw that she was even whiter than when they had seen the Redead. He went over and helped her on her feet as Biggoron reappeared.
“Here it is! I still call it my Biggoron Sword, but it’s smaller than the last one, but double as strong! Try it out!” Biggoron tossed the sword into the air and Link caught it. He began to swing it around and tried it out on a rock, which it severed neatly in two.
“This is amazing Biggoron.” Link said. “I have gotten myself into weapon making too, but I can’t make anything near this quality.”
“I’m glad you like it! Now, who is that behind you?” Biggoron said, turning his attention to Rina who gasped.
“This is my daughter Rina.” Link said stepping aside since Rina was standing right behind him.
Biggoron leaned closer, “She looks so much like you. Did you and Zelda finally hook up?”
Link blushed. “WHAT? No! I am married to Romani, a Termanian girl who owns a ranch. Besides, Zelda and I decided to be just friends.”
Biggoron sighed. “That’s a shame; you would have made a good king. But if you are just friends, why are you blushing so much?”
Link began to blush even more. “What are you talking about?” Rina began to laugh quietly.
“Well,” Link said, still blushing but trying to keep a strait face. “Rina and I are going into Death Mountain to stop Volgavia.”
Rina noticed that her father looked different now. Instead of his normal green tunic, he was wearing a red one. She didn’t know when he changed, but it seemed to be like magic!
“Hold on a second!” Biggoron yelled slamming his hand down on the rock wall. “You are not taking you daughter in there while she is dressed like that are you? She will die!”
Link looked at Rina. “Oh my…! I forgot to get you a Goron’s Tunic!”
Biggoron chuckled. “Don’t worry, I’ll go down to the shop and get you one. Then you can go in there.”
“Thank you so much.” Rina said, bowing.
“Don’t mention it.” Biggoron said as he disappeared behind the rocks once more.

After Rina got her new Goron Tunic from Biggoron and Link showed her the magic of putting it on with the Item Screen, they were ready to go into Death Mountain.
“Are you sure that it’s not going to burn us to death?” Rina said, eyeing the molten lava bubbling in the pit in the center of the giant volcano.
“Would I be leading my daughter into a volcano unprepared? Besides, I’ve been inside Death Mountain many times before, and I’m still here right?” Link smiled at his daughter. He too had been wary about first coming into the Mountain. Thank fully, the Gorons had prepared stuff so such occasions!
“Well…I guess you are right. Where is this Fire Temple anyway?”
“It’s under this chamber. There should be a ladder somewhere that we can climb down into it.” Link began to search the floor for the ladder.
“Wait that ladder would have to be metal, and it would be insanely hot for us to touch with our bare hands, even if we have gauntlets on.” Rina started freaking out again.
“Don’t worry! That’s why we are wearing Goron Tunics! You really have to stop thinking logically; it only slows you down here! Trust me, stranger things have happened!” Link smiled again.
‘Dad sure is smiling a lot…’ Rina thought to herself. ‘But he has done so many amazing things, and the fact that he is my dad and wouldn’t do anything to hurt me makes me trust him, not matter how weird the situation.’ Rina smiled back and started to look for the ladder.
When they finally found it, the ladder was smoking from the heat. Rina had been right, the ladder was made of iron, and it was a miracle that it hadn’t melted from the heat of the magma. She wasn’t going to touch it unless Link touched it first. He sighed, and then started to climb down the ladder. Rina screamed, expecting his skin to melt, but he was fine and then she began to climb down after him, bewildered.
“I told you that you would be fine. You really just have to start trusting me and the magic stuff that you are wearing!” Link said when they had reached the bottom of the ladder, which was about a mile long.
Rina was panting. “Yeah yeah yeah, whatever. Let’s go and save those Gorons!” She marched off into the Temple door.
“Wait a minute Rina! You don’t know what is in there. I don’t know if there is just Fire Keese or something worse!” Link heard Rina scream and ran in after her. Rina had been cornered to the wall by a Lizafo. Lizafoes were lizard like warriors that carried small, sharp daggers, breathed fire, and liked to jump around. They also made this strange noise, but other than that, they were pretty harmless. While the Lizafo was focused on Rina, Link came up and slashed it in the back, grabbing its attention, and then he swung his sword again and killed the annoying monster and went over to Rina.
“I told you to wait for me! You really need to listen to me more! You could have been badly hurt!”
“Sheesh Dad! I’m fine. I could have taken that Lizafo! I’ve beaten Dinafoes before, and those are stronger! YOU need more faith in me!”
Rina and Link were staring each other down when they heard the sound of wings. Bat wings! It was a flock of Fire Keese!
“Rina put your shield up to get rid of the fire, and then slash at them with your sword!”
But Rina had killed all of the Keese with her bow before they could get close enough to use Link’s method. Link was amazed.
“You really are good with that bow. You have your mother’s genes!” Link smiled at Rina.
“I just thought it would be more efficient to kill them with my bow, since I knew that I could hit them. Anyway, where would Volgavia be? Do we have to hit some switches, get some keys, or something?”
“Probably not this time around. It doesn’t look like there is a lock on the door over there that is the door to the room before the boss room. We can just go through there and we should be set!” Link started over to the door.
Rina sighed. “And I thought that the Legend of Zelda series was supposed to have harder dungeons.” She shook her head and caught up to her dad.

After going through the unlocked door, Rina and Link ended up in a giant cavern-like room. It had a high ceiling, and most of the floor was covered in lava, but there was a pillar of stone jutting from the floor, and it looked like a person would be able to jump from the ledge they were on to the pillar, and then to the ledge the boss room door was on.
“Ok, just as I remembered it to be like. I’ll go first Rina, to make sure that it is safe” Link said, as he walked over to the edge.
“But what if it’s not safe and you fall into the lava?”
“My Goron Tunic will keep me from melting, don’t worry. All it will be is a little hot, that’s all. Don’t worry I will be fine!” Link smiled to reassure his daughter. “Here goes nothing!”
Link jumped from the ledge they were standing on onto the stone pillar. He landed on solid ground, and continued to jump to the far ledge. Then he waved for Rina to come and join him. Rina slowly moved towards the edge, scared out of her mind. She looked down at the lava, and then looked over at the pillar, which for some reason seemed farther than it did before.
“It’s now or never!” Rina yelled as she jumped to the pillar. Her feet touched the stone, and she was relieved. Then she jumped to the far ledge to join her father. When she reached the other side, some rocks gave way, and she almost fell, but Link saved her and they got ready to go into the boss room to face Volgavia.
The boss room door was, for some reason, unlocked. It also seemed partially opened, as if inviting them inside. They looked at each other, and then pushed the door the rest of the way open and walked inside.
This room was bigger than the one before it. They could not see the ceiling, as it was so very high up. There was a giant stone platform in the middle of the room, with many holes on it with lava bubbling up from each. The rest of the room surrounding the platform was covered with molten lava. They stepped onto the platform, and it began to shake.
“So, you have come to take me on as you did my father.” A snake-like voice from nowhere jeered.
“You must be Volgavia I presume.” Link yelled back. “I am impressed; Volvagia couldn’t even talk, unlike you. All he could do was hiss.”
“Silence!” Volgavia hissed. “Don’t speak ill of my father. He created me so that I could finish the job that he was given by the great Lord Ganon!”
“There is nothing great about that evil man! How dare you even try to praise that piece of filth! The only reason for him to be called great is for the power that he stole from the Sacred Realm, the Triforce of Power.” Link bellowed back in rage.
“So touchy aren’t we? Well, let’s see how touchy you will be after I burn you to ashes! Along with your daughter!”
Rina flinched as she was brought into the rant. She had no idea who Volgavia was, but she knew he was bad and had to be stopped, she just didn’t know what he looked like.
The floor began to shake again, making Rina take a step back to try and brace herself. Then, she bumped into something that wasn’t there before. She quickly turned around to see a giant snake like creature, with fire coming from its head like long locks of hair. It had what looked like armor on its forehead, which was encrusted with a diamond shaped blue jewel. It had two scaly arms, which were holding up its body while the rest was in the lava that was coming from the hole in the floor it had risen from.
“Hello child, are you ready to meet your end now?” the creature hissed, its voice so cruel, a small amount of fire came from its mouth with every word.
“Get away from her now you snake!” Link yelled as he performed a jumping slash with his sword that landed square on the snake’s head. The creature didn’t even flinch.
“You think that that is going to work? What a fool! Have you forgotten your battle with my father so quickly?” Volgavia roared as it flung the sword off. “Now I will show you what real strength is like!”
He ducked back into the hole, but then flew out of it, revealing that the rest of his body was like that of a snake’s. He had no legs, but a long flowing, powerful tail as the rest of his body. He flew up to what looked like the ceiling and began to drop rocks down from it.
“Get down Rina!” Link yelled as he pushed her out of the way of a falling boulder. “Stay aware! If you don’t, you might not make it out of this battle alive, and I don’t want that to happen!”
Link put his sword away, and reached for another item. What it was, Rina did not see, because Volgavia had flown down low and was circling around her, blocking her vision. Then, the creature let out a fiendish cry as its body was pierced by a sword. It was not the sword that her father normally carried around and used, but the sword that Biggoron had given him. Volgavia flew back into a hole next to Rina, while Rina got her sword out.
“There is nothing you can do with that.” Link said, his back towards Rina, waiting for Volgavia to return. “A mere blade like that won’t do anything to this creature’s main weak point, its head. Don’t worry; I have just the weapon to take care of this!” Link was holding a giant hammer that Rina had never seen before. Before Rina could ask about it, Volgavia appeared in one of the far holes, and Link was off to attack it.
“Ah, using a new toy, eh? That won’t work you know!” Volgavia hissed as Link charged.
The hammer made a direct hit on the serpent’s head, but it shrugged off the blow as it had done the first. Link stood there, studded.
“What did I tell you fool? That doesn’t have enough power to hurt me!” Volgavia threw its head up, and was ready to attack. Link was still standing there, defenseless.
“Noooo!” Rina yelled as she ran to her father’s aid. She pushed her father out of harm’s way as Volgavia let out an intense blast of fire. Rina got caught in the blast.
“Rina? Rina, NO!” Link yelled from the ground. He watched as the spot where his daughter had stood was consumed in flames. Over the roaring fire, he could hear Volgavia laughing.

Link kept staring at the flames. He couldn’t grasp the fact that his daughter was gone, in one burst of flame. For a while he was full of remorse, but that suddenly changed. It changed into an uncontrollable rage.
“That’s it! You will not be forgiven ever for what you have done Volgavia. I will make sure that you die painfully and slowly!” Link yelled as he stood up, putting on the Fierce Deity Mask.
The Fierce Deity Mask was the most powerful mask Link had in his possession. Once Link put it on, there was a flash of white light, and Link had become Fierce Deity Link! Instead of his normal blond hair, it was snow white. He has red markings under his eyes, and a blue triangle-like shape pointing downward from his forehead. He wore silvery armor instead of his tunic, and he worn a light grey hat. Also, instead of his normal sword, he had a long helix sword that was incredibly powerful. This was the form that he had used many years ago to defeat Majora’s Mask.
Volgavia stopped his fire. “What is this? Do you think you can beat me with a stupid costume change? Ha! I will do to you three times what I did to your daughter!” Volgavia launched himself out of the hole he was in and sent himself strait at Link.
“That is not going to happen.” Link said in a deeper, more powerful voice. “I am going to skin you like the sorry garden snake you are!” Link held his helix sword at the ready, waiting for the snake to get within striking distance.
“Let’s if that knife is better than that letter opener you tried to attack me with before!” Volgavia laughed as he opened his mouth to release more fire.
“Not so fast!” Link stuck his sword out and caught Volgavia in the jaw, stopping him in midair.
“Whaa was dat fur?” Volgavia said, trying to talk around the blade he had in his mouth. From his wound, a small trickle of blood began to fall to the hot, rocky floor, which made the red liquid evaporate on contact.
“That was for hurting the Gorons. What till I show you what you win for killing my daughter!” Link said forcefully, as he pulled the sword out of its check bone, sending it flying from the momentum it had built up.
Volgavia smacked against the far wall, and slid into the lava surrounding the room. Link was still on the platform, waiting for it to pop out of one of the lava holes in the center of the room.
“That really hurt, foolish human. Now you are going to see the power that MY father left me in hopes that you would show your sorry face here again!” Volgavia’s voice echoed through out the cavernous room.
“Bring it on snaky! I am ready for whatever so called ‘power’ you have. But don’t worry, this battle will end in your defeat!”
“We shall see won’t we foolish little human!” Volgavia said as he burst from the hole in the middle of the room. “Now! Face the power of Volvagia and Volgavia combined!” A bright light filled the room, and Link could not see anything. But since he was in the Fierce Deity form, he could still sense the serpent’s presence.
Then, a jet stream of fire came shooting towards Link. He easily dodged it, but felling prey to Volgavia’s sneak attack, and was grabbed by the snake and dragged into the air above the platform.
“Afraid of heights fool?” Volgavia said as he held Link by his arms. “Let’s see if you can survive this!” With that, he threw Link at the ground with all the force he could.
Link was falling fast, and he didn’t have a clue what he should do to save himself. As Fierce Deity Link, he could not use any of his other tools, so his longshot that he had gotten in the Water Temple was out of the question.
Then Link remembered on of his new abilities that he had as the Fierce Deity. Link took his helix sword out, which still had Volgavia’s blood on the tip, and began to swing it back and forth. Small energy blasts came out of the blade at a tremendous speed, slowing his descent.
After a few seconds, Link landed softly on the ground, unharmed. Still in the air, Volgavia was furious.
“So, I bet now you think that you are all that right? Well, you are not! Now, for my true power!” Volgavia flew up to the high ceiling, and then he started to perform a dive-bomb right at Link. “At least this way we will both be taken out!” the serpent cackled insanely as he plummeted towards the stone platform.
“It looks like he has lost it.” Link said to himself as he got ready for his final blow, and holding back tears. “Rina, I am so sorry.”
Link held his helix sword above his head. Volgavia was still laughing madly as his fell towards Link, but it was about to end. Since Volgavia had lost his mind, he did not see that Link was holding his sword above his head and Volgavia ran into it, head on.
Then the terrible sound of bone hitting the metal of the sword echoed through out the room. Volgavia groaned slightly, and was dead almost on contact with the sword. At the point the tip of the sword had sunk into Volgavia’s skull, blood came pouring out, and Link was covered in it.
He then put his sword and the snake down, and pulled the sword out and let the beast’s corpse bleed. He then took the mask off in, letting off the waves of magic like with the Zora Mask. Once he took it off, he was clean, and sighed, tired from the long hard fight.
“I can’t believe I was able to do something like this after all those years.” Link laughed to himself. But then he began to cry. He had still lost his daughter, winning the fight did not matter. Nothing he could do could bring his daughter back.
But then, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He jerked around to see Rina standing behind him.

Link just stood there, staring at Rina. He could not believe that she was alright after that attack from Volgavia.
“Wait…how? How did you escape that attack alive? You just seemed to disappear…”
“Well, first you have to promise not to be mad at me, ok dad?” Rina said, looking down.
“Why would I be mad? I just want to know how you are still alive and well!” Link said hugging her.
“Ok, here it goes. Let’s see, let’s start at the beginning.”
“That would be helpful.”
“Ok, I used Farore’s Wind to get away from that attack.” Rina blurted out.
“What? How did you get Farore’s Wind?” The only one who had Farore’s Wind to Link’s knowledge was himself.
“Well, I sort of barrowed your’s before I left Termania for Hyrule.” Rina was still looking down. “I knew you would be mad if I went through your equipment, but I knew it could get me out of a tight spot, so I took it.”
“So, what happened with the attack? How did you use it fast enough?” Link seemed more curious than mad.
“Well, I got it out before I pushed you out of the way, and then I used it right after I had pushed you. It was nice to know that he was going to attack you, or else I would have been doomed.” Rina said with a slight smile.
“Where did it take you?” Link was a little confused about how she could smile about that.
“That’s the main reason it took me so long. I ended up back with Biggoron, and I had to climb all the way back in here. But I forgot the way we came, so it took me even longer having to search that crater for these stairs. And then when I finally got into the Temple, but there was this swarm of Fire Keese, then that bolder. Oh, and I can’t forget those fire jet! Then there was that….”
“None of that matters.” Link interrupted, “I am just glad that you are still alive.” Link walked up to Rina and hugged her tightly. “I thought that I had lost you.” Link then said, beginning to cry.
“Dad, are you going to be ok?” Rina said, noticing the tears evaporating on the ground.
“I will be now, since I know that you are alive.”

On their way out of the Fire Temple, and down Death Mountain, Link told Rina all about his battle with Volgavia, trying to make it sound as detailed as he could. Rina was captivated by the story, and wished she could have seen it.
By the time the reached Kakoriko Village it was dusk, but something didn’t feel right. It was not the same feeling they had gotten when they met the Redead two nights before, but there was the strong sent of dark, evil power thick in the air. After rushing past the rows of houses, the saw a group of people gathered around the town well. Link recognized them as shamans of the Sheika tribe, like Impa, the Sage of Shadows.
Link and Rina ran over to the well, and saw that they had drawn a purification circle around the well, with symbols for light, purity, banishment, and sealing. Link tapped the nearest Sheikiet shaman, and tried to ask what was going on.
“This well once sealed an evil deity, which under the rein of Ganon, broke out and took over the Shadow Temple.” The shaman said without turning around. “But then the Hero of Time came, and helped our beloved Impa defeat the creature.”
“Yes, I remember hearing about that.” Link said in a calm voice.
The shaman continued. “Then we came across an evil weapon, more powerful than man could ever make. We sensed the evil pulsing within it, so we sealed it in the well. Now it seems like someone, or something, is trying to summon the weapon.”
“Hence, the purification circle and the shamans, I see.” Link said, almost mocking the shaman for not recognizing him. “Are you sure that you can stop this ultimate weapon. Would you mind if I tried to help?”
“Please kind stranger! I don’t know how much longer some of the others can last.”
“All righty then! I have the perfect thing for this situation.” Link said, getting something out from his Item Screen, and putting an arm out to stop Rina from coming forward. “You don’t have enough power for this Rina. Let me handle it ok?”
Rina stepped back, knowing from his fight with Volgavia, that he was stronger than he appeared to be. Then she noticed that item that he had gotten out. It looked like Farore's Wind, but the gem inside the crystal diamond was blue, not green. Rina then realized that it was Nayru’s Love; one of the strongest barrier spells that someone could have.
Link stretched out his hands over the well, with the crystal floating above his hands. He then shut his eyes, and a blue light shown over the well. There was a flash of bright, white magic, and there was a rotating blue crystal shaped barrier around the well. The shamans began to cheer, thinking that the weapon was sealed for good, when a black flash struck the inside of the crystal from the well.
“The sword! It has almost made its way out! And now that it is dark, it has more power now!” The shaman Link had spoken to shouted, and the seven sheikas scattered.
The sword was pushing on the tip of the crystal, trying to smash its way through, and fly off to whatever had summoned it, but Nayru’s Love was not rolling over. The sword got flung back into the well, and the crystal glowed even more than before.
Rina thought for sure that the sword had been sealed, but she was proven wrong. The sword shot back at the crystal, and then the air filled with an awful sound. It was high pitched, and filled with cries of terror, as the sword began to cut through the barrier. Link and Rina covered their ears, and watched in disbelief as the sword shattered the spell, and flew off into the twilit sky.
“We have to follow it!” Rina shouted to Link.
“My thoughts exactly!” Link grinned back at her.
“But how are we going to? That sword almost broke the sound barrier, and we don’t have our horse to even TRY and catch up with it!”
Link smiled an evil smile. “Now that is where you are wrong my daughter!”
Link pulled out a small, pure blue instrument. It had five holes and a small ring of gold around what looked like a mouth piece. Rina then saw the shamans had come back, and were on their knees, mumbling something. She listened in, and heard “it’s the ocarina of time!”
Rina wondered why they were getting all worked up over a simple wind flute. Then Link began to play. It was a song that reminded Rina of the fields at the ranch back home. The open plain, and the smell of fresh air mixed with the sent of freshly gathered hay. Once the song was over, Rina was snapped back into reality, and heard the far off sound of hoofs on stone.
There, coming through the town gate, were Eponia, her father’s horse, and Slate. Rina could not believe it! Her dad had just played a song, and their horses came running. Rina looked over at Link in amazement, and all he could do was smile at her, in an ‘I told you so’ kind of way.
They mounted their steeds, and were going to set off, when the shaman from before hurried over to Link.
“You are the Hero of Time! If no one, but you could save our land from the evils of the one who summoned that blade. Please, be safe on your journey.” And then he bowed.
Link returned that bow. “Don’t worry; I will risk it all again to save this land!” And then he and Rina road off, following the trail left by the sword.

Rina and Link were hot on the tail of the cursed sword. It left a trail of darkness as it zoomed through the air. They had ridden half way through Hyrule Field, when the sword made a sharp right, straight towards Castle Town.
“What? Why would it be going there?” Link muttered out loud, swiftly turning Eponia. Rina, who was not that coordinated with a horse, kept going and almost hit a tree.
“Why do you say that Dad?” Rina asked, after rejoining her father.
“Well, I figured since Ganon, basically the father of all things evil, came from the Gerudo Desert, I thought that the summoner would be there.”
“Now that you put it that way, it is weird that it would be headed to the Castle.”
When they got closer, they saw the sword stop above a figure standing at the gate of the town. The sword hovered over the figures head. When Rina saw who had summoned the sword, she gasped.
“Richard?” Rina said in amazement.
“You know this boy?” Link blurted out.
“Yeah, I met him while I was injured in Castle Town. He was hanging out with some friends and I bumped into him….” Rina was interrupted.
“You were INJURED?!” Link shouted. “What happened? Who did it?!”
“Calm down, I was just jumped by a pair of Stalchilds. And one of them was really big. But I’m fine now! Really I am!”
“Well, well, well; if it isn’t Rina again.” Richard said when they came into range.
“Richard! What are you doing with that sword? Don’t you know it’s cursed?”
“Yes I know. It came to me before, seven years ago. But back then, I was afraid of its amazing powers. Now I am welcoming it back with open arms so I can finish what was ending by your father.”
“Do you even know what you are talking about little boy? It isn’t safe to play around with powerful weapons for childish revenge.”
“Oh, I’m not playing around, I am inheriting!” With that, Richard grabbed the sword, and a black light surged around him. “This power, I am so glad that it has come back to me.”
All of a sudden, Richard changed. His skin became very tan, and his hair became red. He reminded Rina of how the Gerudos looked.
“You! It can’t be! Ganondorf?” Link half shouted, his mouth wide open.
“Not quite old man. I am the son of Lord Ganondorf. I am, Makura! Prince of Darkness and Heir to Lord Ganondorf’s Empire!”
A ball of darkness appeared in Makura’s hand, and he shot it into the sky, which seemed to rip open when it hit. From that rip, a black horse flew down. It had large bat like wings the color of the night sky during a new moon. Its mane was blazing black fire, and its eyes were as red as coals. When the horse landed, it reared, and then allowed Makura to get on it.
“Now, to get my plan into action!” Makura laughed as he flew away on the dark horse. They were headed west, towards Termania.
“Dad, we HAVE to follow him!”
“You don’t have to tell me!”
And they began to ride back to Termania, faster than they had ever ridden before.

They had been riding for at least a half an hour, and neither of them had said a word. Link seemed to be too focused on what he had to do, that it was Rina who noticed Eponia and Slate not looking good. She decided to TRY and talk to her dad.
“Um, Dad?” Rina said softly.
“Hm?” was the reply she got back. Link didn’t even turn around to see her!
“Slate and Eponia are getting really tired from all the running. Maybe we should stop and let them rest?”
“That would make us lose time.” Link replied bluntly.
“But this could KILL our horses!” Rina half shouted. After she had said that, she covered her mouth and didn’t say anything else.
Link froze. Rina had never said anything like that before, so it came as a surprise to him. He came back to his senses and realized that he should focus on what is happen now to him, and wait till he sees Makura again to plan.
“Ok, we can slow down a bit, and rest after we pass through the town in the valley.” Link said calmly.
Neither of them said anything till they got to the village. It looked the exact same way as it did when Rina had left it. Nothing had changed at all, and at first that freaked her out, but then she remembered about what happened every night in the village.
They got off their horses, and walked through the village. Since it was past midnight, they didn’t have anything to worry about, since the mind erasing had already taken place, but there were people outside, and from the looks of it, they had been drinking.
An older man put his hand on Rina’s shoulder, making her jump, and began to talk to her.
“What’s a cute little lady like yourself doing out so late?” The man said with a drunken chuckle. “Why don’t you come with me, and I’ll take you home.”
Rina slapped the man across the face, making the men watching them roar with laughter.
“Get away from me you drunken freak. I have something I need to do.” Rina said coolly.
“Are you going to let her do that Frank?” One of the other men shouted.
“Now see her little girl.” Frank said, walking in front of Rina. “I am trying to be nice to you! That is no way to treat your elders…!”
Frank was cut off when Link kicked him in the back, knocking him out. The men began to roar with laughter again, and Rina and Link continued on their way.
“Thanks for that back there Dad.” Rina said softly, trying not to get her father madder than he already was.
“I was just protecting you, as fathers should.”
They kept walking without a word for a few minutes, when someone bumped into Rina.
“Oh, I’m so sorry!” Rina said after the collision. “Are you ok..?”
Rina stopped. It was Brain, the guy she had helped out of the forest when she was coming to Hyrule. She knew he wouldn’t remember her, but his face brought back memories.
“No, it’s all my fault. Are you ok?” Brain said with a smile. “Wait a second…do I know you from somewhere? It feels like I have met you before somewhere.”
“Are you sure? This is my first time coming through here. It must have been someone else.” Rina said very fast. She didn’t want to talk to him too long, it would be too awkward.
“Well, I’m sorry I bumped into you. Good luck on your travels.” Brain said as they began to walk on.
“Do you know him?” Link said when they were outside the village.
“Yes, I helped him out of the forest when I was coming through here. It’s weird not having him remember me.”
“Don’t feel so bad, that’s what happens to everyone in that village, every night. By this time tomorrow, those men will have forgotten you ever slapped that Frank or that I ever kicked him in the spine and knocked him out. That’s just the way the world works.”
“Yeah I guess so.” Rina said looking up at the fading full moon. “Are we going to rest now?”
“We might as well go a little ways into the forest, so we will be able to sleep without having to worry about the sun.”
“Good point.” Rina said with a small smile.
And they walked into the forest, leading their horses, to get a good night’s rest before heading back into Termania.

After they had rested for an hour, Rina, Link, Slate, and Eponia continued for the entrance to the bottom of the Clock Tower. Rina didn’t recognize it, since it had been so dark when she had come into the forest. Again, they had to go one at a time to get into the tower, like they had to do to get out.
“Ok Rina, I am going to go first. Then send Eponia through, then you come. Slate should be able to get through by himself, if he did it like that before.” Link said, stepping up to the stone doors carved into the giant tree trunk.
“I can’t believe that this leads to the Clock Tower. I mean, it’s like we are in a totally different dimension.” Rina said, looked at the stone door set amid the wood.
“Well, these doors are connected by magic to Clock Town, and Termania itself. The tunnel under the clock tower was built when the town was built along with the clock, but these doors were placed in later, so Termania could trade with other countries, like Hyrule, and Holodrum. And the only way to do that was to dig down underneath the town, and place a magic door allowing access to the outside world. Termania is actually far to the west on the coast of the Great Sea, but they wanted a faster way to get to and from the other lands, so they decided to use magic.”
“Wow, but I guess you could also walk to Termania without using this door right?”
“Yes, but it is a very long and hard journey, as most of the land is wild and unsettled, but enough history, time to go back to Termania.”
Link stepped towards the door, and placed his right hand on the green jewel set into the stone. It glowed, the doors opened and he walked inside. After he was in, the doors slammed shut, and the jewel stopped glowing.
After the other three had gotten through the door, they began to walk up the grim covered stairs to get into Clock Town. When they were almost to the top, a familiar voice greeted them.
“Well, well, if it isn’t Link. Back from your journey to get your daughter back, eh? And I guess you found her!” It was the Happy Mask Shop Salesmen.
Link groaned. “What are you still doing here? Aren’t you on a busy schedule or something? That’s what you kept telling me when I was trying to get the Major’s Mask for you, and yet you are still here.”
“I have my ways of getting around. And besides, this time I am on vacation!”
“Then why are you spending it in the grim filled bottom of a clock tower?” Rina blurted out.
“What was that little girl? Don’t try and be smart with me. I have my reasons. Besides, I have a very important message for your father. Any more of that, and I guess I just won’t tell him!” The crazy salesman began to laugh, evilly.
Link walked up to the salesman, grabbed him by the collar of his coat, and held him in the air.
“What is this message you are going to give me? This time, I am the one who is in a hurry because I have something very important and life threatening to tend to.” Link tightened his grip, and the salesmen winced. “Now, unless you want to put a price on your life, I suggest you tell me this message.”
“Ok, ok! Sheesh! No need to get violent! You sure haven’t changed a bit, so full of courage, knowing what you want, and knowing how to get it!”
Link let the man down. The salesmen took a few seconds to catch his breath, and then when he was ready, he began to talk.
“This Sheikit boy came through here, telling me to tell you once you got to met him at the Stock Pot Inn. He seemed to be very worried, and rushed out of here once he had told me everything.”
“How long ago was this?”
“He came through here earlier this afternoon.”
“Thank you. We will be on our way now.” Link brushed pass the salesmen and headed for the big oak doors that lead to Central Clock Town.
Rina stopped in front of the mask salesmen, and then smiled. “Nice seeing you again.”
The salesmen scowled, “Yeah right you little brat. Now run along and catch up with Daddy.”
“Hmpf! I was just trying to be nice to you. Since you helped me get out of here in the first place.” Rina swiftly turned around, and headed towards the door.

Rina was glad to be back in Clock Town. All of the familiar buildings, people; it made her feel all homey. She had grown up in Clock Town knowing everyone because everyone knew her parents. Her mother, Romani, had grown up on the Romani Ranch and had been many peoples’ savor, seeing as she would bring the weekly supply of milk fresh from the ranch to the Milk Bar in town. And then her father, Link, had saved all of Termania from the moon and the Majora’s Mask many years ago too.
Once they had reached East Clock Town, they headed strait for the Stock Pot Inn, since it had begun to rain. When they got inside, the tried to dry their clothes a little bit, and then Link headed over to the front desk.
A small boy was sitting in the chair at the desk, totally absorbed in the manga he was reading. He didn’t even notice them come in. He had short purple hair, and deep blue eyes. Link smiled when he saw him, because the boy reminded him of a person he knew.
Link rang the small bell on the desk, and scared the boy right out of the chair and onto the floor. He got up panting, and looked up to see Link standing there smiling. The boy’s eyes widened, and then he ran out from behind the desk, and up the stairs to Link’s left.
At the top of the stairs he began to yell. “MOM! There are some guests here!”
“Ok Henry! I’m coming! Just go to your room while I handle it!”
“Ok MOM!” Henry yelled back. Then was the sound of footsteps running down the hall, and then there was a door slam.
“I’m sorry to keep you waiting!” The soft female voice from before said as the woman was coming down the stairs, “I was fixing up one of our rooms, when my son Henry started to yell….” She stopped. When she saw Link, she ran over to him a hugged him.
“Uh….Nice to see you again Anju.” Link said, surprised by the sudden hug. “I see you are doing well.”
“You can’t believe how nice it is to see you again! Kafei will want to see you too!” Anju turned towards the stairs and cupped her hand beside her mouth. “Hunny? Come down here! There is someone that you have to see here!”
The sound of a door opening came from the second floor. “I’m coming Anju!”
When Kafei came down the stairs, and saw Link, a smile shone on his face.
“It’s great to see you again! It has been so long!” Kafei said with a huge smile, giving Link a hearty handshake and patting him on the back.
“Honestly, we can never repay you for what you did for us all those years ago. Saving Kafei’s wedding mask, helping him change back from a child into an adult. We will forever be in your debt.” Anju said, on the verge of tears.
“It’s nice to see you two again too. But I do have a purpose for being here. I met the Happy Mask Salesman again, and he said that there was a person staying here that wanted to see me?”
“Oh! You mean that Sheikit boy? Yes, he checked in here yesterday. I believe he is in his room right now if you want to go see him.” Kafei said.
“Thank you. This is very important! Come on Rina, let’s go.”
Rina almost had forgotten she was there. None of the people that had come down seemed to care that she was there, but she was glad that her father remembered.
“Now who is this?” Anju said, clapping her hands together.
“This is my daughter, Rina.” Link said.
“She looks just like you, you know?” Kafei remarked.
Rina sighed. She got that all the time from the people around town, and she had just gotten it all over Hyrule too.
“Yes she does, but now we must go see that boy. Thank you for everything Anju and Kafei!” Link said starting towards the stairs, and motioning Rina to follow him.
“It was very nice meeting you both!” Rina said, and then rushed after her father.
Once the two were up stairs, Anju looked over at her husband.
“What do you think we should do? We can’t betray Link or his daughter like that guy said.”
“But if we don’t, he’s going to kill our two kids, and then burn down the Inn, what else can we do?” Kafei said with some anger welling up. “If not them, then our family is going to suffer!”
“But it’s Link! He helped us get back together after what the Skull Kid did to you!”
“Yes, but now our children’s lives are at stake! As well as our only source of income!”
Kafei was getting very mad, Anju knew that this subject bothered him, but she knew that she just couldn’t turn Link and his daughter over to that man.

Once Link and Rina had climbed the small wooden stair case to the second level of the Inn, they say a door opened a crack. All of a sudden, and long, thin needle shot out of the crack and stuck to the wall across the small hall.
“This must be the room. The only person I know who uses those is the one who wants to see us. Come on Rina, its ok. Trust me.”
Link began to walk to the room, and Rina had to hesitantly catch up, still shocked from the sudden needle.
When they entered the small room, there was a man sitting on the bed. All of his face, except his red eyes, was covered in wrappings. Golden hair stuck out of the opening for his eyes. He wore what looked like armor under his clothes, and had this strange symbol in the middle of the cloth draped over his torso. He nodded as they entered for them to sit down.
“You didn’t have to come all the way out here you know.” Link said with a grin as he sat down.
“I know, but I felt I had too. Since, this enemy is similar to that man.” The man said in a deep calm, yet firm voice.
“Rina,” Link said turning to her. “This is Sheik. He is a Sheikit warrior who is good friends with the Sage of Shadows, Impa. He helped me in my fight with Ganon in more ways then one.”
Rina stood up instantly and bowed. “I am glad to meet you.”
“The pleasure is all mine. Link has told me about you before. I am honored to make your acquaintance as well.” Sheik motioned to her that she can sit back down, and she almost fell back into her seat.
“Now, on to the matters that you traveled so long to tell us.”
“Of course.” Sheik began. “This man, Makura, is defiantly of Ganon’s line. I noticed him doing strange things while he was still using the alias, Richard. He is planning something very big, and it seems that he planed to start it somewhere here, in Termania.”
“Yes, that would explain his instantaneous flight to this country. But what is he planning?”
“I think it has something to do with Ikana.” Sheik said softly.
“You mean the cursed canyon? What would he want to do there?”
“It may have something to do with Ikana’s history.” Rina blurted out.
Link and Sheik both looked at her.
“What do you mean?” Sheik asked, curious about what this girl might have thought of.
“Well, I was just thinking along the lines of the Stone Tower that is there. Ever since it was opened and the Ikananian people were wiped off the map, that canyon has become closer to the land of the dead. Gibdos were seen in the sunlight, Poes roamed free, and the King and his guards were able to come back in the form of stalchild like creatures. Makura must have some idea of using that power, maybe to open the doors of the Tower again and wipe out all of Hylian kind, or maybe, to bring something back.” Rina trailed off at the end.
Sheik and Link pondered this for a while, and then Sheik finally said.
“She really is your daughter.”
“I do think she’s on to something though. I had over looked that detail myself, and now it seems clear. Wiping people out was not Ganon’s desired, he wanted to rule. And for that, he needed an army, which he built up. Makura must have the same motives.”
All of a sudden, the door was kicked in. Outside, stood a very tall, very tan, muscular man, along with a skinnier man, who was also very tan. They wore clothes that would lead one to believe they lived in the desert.
“There you are!” the taller man bellowed as he charged into the room. “Our master has been looking for you ever since he got here.”
“He is going to be very pleased to see you!” the skinny man laughed in a shrill voice.
Link, Rina, and Sheik all jumped onto their feet, but before they could draw their weapons, the huge man had gotten to them first.
“This is going to be too easy!” the man roared, first punching Link in the gut, sending him soaring into the far wall above the bed.
“One down.” The other man cried out, as Sheik then got punched, and was sent over into the bookcase, knocking over all of the books.
Rina began to step back; she knew that she couldn’t take these guys all by herself. But she wasn’t going to give up either!
“Let’s go three for three!” the man bellowed, charging at Rina.
“I don’t think so!” Rina said, ducking at the perfect time, and then getting out of the way so she could draw her sword. “You little rat!” The man said, getting up and rubbing his head. “That letter opener isn’t going to hurt me!”
“Yeah! Nothing you got is going to save you now!” The other man chimed in.
“Shut up!” Rina said who, in a flash, had drawn her bow and shot the smaller man in the right arm.
“OW! Why you!” the man yelled in pain, trying to get the arrow out if his arm.
“Are you ok?” The bigger man yelled over to his partner, turning away for the second that Rina had needed.
She put her bow away, and charged with her sword at the bigger man’s side. He noticed at the last second, and tried to grab her, causing her to get off course and only graze his side.
“You little pip squeak!” The man yelled!
“That’s what you get!” Rina said with a smirk. She quickly turned around to face him again, when he swung his arm. Rina just barely ducked, but then got hit with his other fist. She was flung into the near wall, and was unconscious.
