Darkness. That was all that Rina could see. When she finally realized that her eyes were closed, she slowly opened them, expecting to see the giant stalchild grinning evilly at her, but she didn't. She was lying in a bed, in a room she had never seen before. She heard the familiar sound of a Clock Town clock, slowly ticking away the minutes. At first she thought that she was back in Termania and that her father had saved her, but her thoughts were interrupted by a red blur that flew in front of her.
"At last!" chimed Yuna's voice. "She's awake Trevor!" Yuna flew off, out of Rina's field of view. As she tried to slowly sit up in the bed, her right arm gave out. Sending her falling back into the bed. When Rina looked at her arm, it seemed fine, but on her shoulder was a big bruise.
"So you hurt your arm, eh?" a man said to her. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Trevor. I found you last night knocked out in Hyrule Field. If it weren't for your friend, Yuna, you might not have made it."
"What...?" Rina was so confused. What had happened last night?
"Ok, let me start from the beginning." Trevor said, sitting down. "I was on my way back from trading with some Gerudos, when I ran into Yuna here. She was so upset; I asked her what was wrong. Then she told me about the fight, and then she showed me where you were. And then I carried you here, to my house."
"You see Rina. If it weren't for me, you would be dead! See? I come in handy!"
"I have one question though. Where is Slate?"
Trevor was bewildered. "Slate? Who is Slate?"
"Yuna! You mean he didn't come back?"
"No..." Yuna sadly said. "I didn't see him after you told him to leave."
"No....I have to go find him!" Rina said, trying to get out of the bed, her right arm giving out again. On her next attempt, Trevor grabbed her left arm.
"You are not going back out there in this condition! I can tell that this Slate is important to you, but I bet he is fine. He is probably at the Ranch."
"Ranch? What Ranch?"
"The Lon Lon Ranch. It's the safest place outside of the Castle Town! He must have gone there last night." Rina looked down. "Don't worry," Trevor said. "I'm sure Slate is there! But first you have to get some rest if you're going to save him!"
"Why don't you have some of the soup Trevor was making! I think it should be done by now." Yuna said, trying to change the subject.
"I guess you're right. I can't use my sword with my arm like this anyway." Rina sighed, slumping back under the covers.
"That's the spirit!" Trevor said, while he was getting the soup into a bowl. "This is hot, so drink it slowly. And you might want to wait before trying any." Trevor set the bowl down on the table next to the bed. "And you don't have to stay in here while you are healing. Tomorrow I'll let you explore the town!"

After making a sling to keep her from damaging her shoulder any more, finishing the soup, and getting a good night sleep, Rina woke up the next morning feeling better than ever. When she got up, she was going to look for Trevor, but he had left a note on the counter.
'Dear Rina and Yuna, I'm sorry I'm not there right now, I had to go to work today. There is some more soup on the stove if you get hungry. I set out a change of clothes if you wanted to get out of your traveling clothes Rina, which you might want to do, so you can blend in in town. And don't worry, the clothes are clean.
Trevor'
Rina looked at the clothes on the end of the bed. They seemed to be a few sizes to big, but she didn't care. Right now, her tunic felt disgusting from traveling through the desert and going through that mucky Clock Tower. Rina got herself another bowl of soup, and went to go change.
After she had finished the soup, and changed clothes, she went out into the Castle Town. "Wow..." Rina said, looking around at all of the people. "It looks like Clock Town during the Festival of Time, but this is a normal day." Rina was on her own, since Yuna decided to sleep in today. "Hmm..." Rina said, looking around. "I don't know where to start!"
"Hello there, are you new in town?"
Rina turned around. There was a guy, a guy that she had never seen before. She didn't know what to say to him, so she went and answered his question.
"Umm...yes. This is my first time in Hyrule actually."
"Really? Where are you from? Holodrum? Lybriana?"
"Actually, I'm from Termania."
"Wow. That's to the west right?"
"Umm...yeah I think so."
"Oh! Forgive me! I didn't even tell you my name! My name is Richard."
"Hi...Richard. My name is Rina."
"Hey Richard! What are you doing over there? We are going!" one of Richard's friends yelled to him from the other side of the square.
"I'm sorry, I have to go now. Maybe I'll see you again sometime?"
"Yeah, goodbye." Rina said, waving as Richard left to rejoin his friends. "The people here are so nice!"
"No way. Rina? Is that you?" a voice from somewhere in the crowd yelled out. Rina looked around for where the voice was coming from, when someone came up and placed their hand on her shoulder. She turned around and saw..
"Gremor? Is that you?"

It was Gremor! "I can't believe that you are back here so soon! Didn't you have a trail to go to in Clock Town?" Rina asked, not knowing what kind of case it was.
"I did," Gremor replied, "but it was resolved rather quickly, so I headed back as fast as I could, knowing that you were coming here."
Rina blushed. Gremor was so nice. She almost had not recognized him because he had shaved, and he was wearing an important looking suit instead of traveling clothes.
"Well enough about me, what happened to you?" Gremor asked, eyeing her too big clothes and the sling on her right arm.
"Oh these?" She said, looking down at her inflated t-shirt and jeans. "These are just rentals. And this is just to keep me from damaging my shoulder any more." She said while lifting her arm in the sling up. "I got into a bad fight with a big stalchild yesterday and I was knocked out, but a nice man named Trevor saved me. I'm staying at his house right now."
"Oh, Trevor. I know who that is. He works near by to were I do, and we have had lunch together before. Nice man, but you already know that. By the way, what happened to your horse?"
Rina looked down. "Well, during the fight, some other normal Stalchilds were going to attack him, so I told him to run, which he did. I haven't seen him since." She said, holding back some tears.
"I'm sorry; I didn't mean to bring up a sore subject." Gremor said, in an almost fatherly way. "Anyway, it's almost noon; would you like to get some lunch with me?"
Rina nodded, wiping away a stray tear. "Yeah, I'd really like that. What did you have in mind? This is my first time here, as you know, so anything is fine with me."
"Ok then! We can go to my favorite restaurant!"

After walking around some of the Castle Town, Gremor led Rina into a bar. "This is your favorite restaurant? A bar?" Rina said, looking around the smoky pub.
"What? You got a problem with it? I was happy to see that in Clock Town they had a bar just like this, so I thought that you would enjoy it...”
"Well...I don't drink" Rina said, trying her best to be polite.
"Don't worry; they have some of the famous milk from the Lon Lon Ranch. Trust me, its good. Maybe not as good as the milk from that Romani Ranch, but it's good! I know that you will like it!"
"Ok, I'll try it." Rina said, holding back the smile that had come from Gremor's last remark.
They walked up to the bar, and sat down on two of the open stools. A female bar tender came up to them and smiled at Gremor. "So, I see that you are back from your trip to Clock Town, eh Gremor? That was fast."
"And I'm glad Dorla. It was a long way there and back. They had a nice bar there, but it didn't have the homey feel this one has."
Dorla smiled. "Oh, Gremor. Stop it. So who might this be?" she said, glancing at Rina.
"My name is Rina." Rina said, with a slight bow. "I'm visiting here from around Clock Town."
"I see. So old Gremor here kidnapped you?"
Rina blushed. "Oh no. I was heading here, and met him on my way out."
"Right...." Dorla said, eyeing both of them. "So what will it be? The usual Gremor?" Gremor nodded. "And about for you young lady?"
"She'll have some Lon Lon Milk. She's never had it before." Gremor said.
"Ok, I'll be right back with that." Dorla turned, and went back into the kitchen.
"Don't mind her Rina; she's like that with everyone." Gremor said, gazing at Rina.
"What? Is there something on my face?" Rina said, shocked.
"No...I was just looking at you." Gremor said, moving closer to Rina.
"Ok, stop." Rina said, putting her good hand in-between them. "If you are trying to hit on me, just stop."
"What do you mean? I thought you liked me?" Gremor said, shocked at her response.
"As a person I met who helped me." Rina said.
"That's all?"
"That's all."
"Well." Gremor said. "I'm sorry to hear that." He pulled out a dagger from somewhere. "If you don't want me, then no one can have you!"
He lunged at Rina. She jumped off her stool, and began to run towards the door. She flung the door open, and in her blind fear, ran into the person trying to come into the bar.
"Ow...I'm so sorry..." Rina started, looking up at the person she ran into and it was Trevor!
"What's going on here?" Trevor said.
"This guy named Gremor is trying to kill me."
"What?!"

Trevor looked beyond Rina to see Gremor charging at them, the dagger held out. "Get out of the way!" Trevor shouted, as he pushed Rina out of Gremor's path, while moving towards the other side. Not seeing that coming, and unable to stop, Gremor skidded out the door. "That was close...” Trevor panted. "What happened Rina?"
"Well...he started to hit on me, and I told him I didn't like him that way. Then he just went crazy!" Rina said, gasping from the shock of what was happening. Gremor charged back into the bar, and looked frantically around for Rina. "He's in so much rage..." Rina whispered. Gremor jerked around, he had heard her. "Oh no..." Rina said, jumping onto a near by table, and then hopping to the next.
"How can you do that with your arm that way?" Trevor shouted as he hit Gremor over the head with a chair from behind.
"Oh, well. I had combat training while I was young, and I got really strong because of it. This kind of stuff is easy for me." Rina grinned, jumping to another table.
Gremor got up, not even fazed by the chair. He turned around to Trevor and smashed the chair with his fist. Trevor flinched back as Gremor swung the dagger at him, but missed. Rina slipped on something spilled on a table, and knocked it over onto the floor. Taking her with it. Gremor twitched at the sound, and headed right for Rina. She rolled to the side, and used the momentum to get on her feet.
"Full of tricks are we?" Gremor said in an evil tone. "Well, I'm going to have to stop that, now won't I?" He gave an evil laugh as he swung at Rina. She dodged just barley, but the sling got cut and fell to the ground.
As Gremor got ready for his next attack, Rina looked at his eyes. She remembered his eyes were a soft hazel color the first time she meant him. Now they were glazed over, and were pulsing a dark red.
"Wait...this isn't Gremor." Rina gasped.
"What do you mean? Of course that's Gremor!" Trevor said, grabbing her out of Gremor's next strike.
"Well...it's his body, but he's being possessed! Look at his eyes!"
Trevor looked at Gremor's eyes. He was shocked at how they looked, and flinched away from him.
"Well. If he's possessed, what are we going to do?" Trevor asked in desperation.
"Ack...all my stuff is at your house. I'm going to have to try this on my own."
"What are you going to do? Don't hurt him!"
"I'm not; I just have to try this." Rina froze where she stood. She outstretched her arms, and began to focus and closed her eyes. Trevor kept watching her, and then a bright light appeared from Rina's outstretched hands. It concentrated into a ball, which when she opened her eyes, was sent right at Gremor.
"What's going on?" Trevor said. He had never seen anything like it before. Gremor's body froze when the light hit it. He began to scream out in pain, but Rina remained focused. "I guess I'm going to have to trust her on this...” Trevor said to himself. Then, all of a sudden, Gremor's screaming stopped. The light faded, and a glowing ball of a dark purple substance floated in the air above him.
"Well done." It chuckled. "I didn't think you were capable of that. See you next time." And the substance disappeared through the roof.
Since she used to much of her magic, Rina was worn out, and she collapsed. Trevor ran over to her, when he saw that Gremor was getting up. His eyes had changed back, and he was rubbing his head.
"What am I doing here Trevor?" Gremor said, in a confused tone. "What has happened? And who is that girl?" Gremor was pointing at Rina, who Trevor had in his arms.
Trevor sighed. "She can't seem to stay out of trouble." He laughed. "Don't worry Gremor. Come over to my house and I'll explain everything."

Rina woke up, and found herself in Trevor’s house again. She looked around, but she did not see him in the room. She began to hoist herself up, and when she put weight on her right arm, she expected pain. But nothing happened. Rina looked at her shoulder to find the bruise gone, and her arm completely healed. Just then, Trevor walked in with Gremor fallowing him.
“Oh! You’re finally awake!” Trevor said, relieved. “After you collapsed in the bar, I brought you here. By the way, what did you do back there?”
Rina smiled. “Well, since I was taught how to use magic, I just tried to do what I need to create a Light Arrow. Just this time it was without the arrow. When I am using an arrow, I can regulate the amount of magic I put into it, but this time I used a bit too much.”
“Are you ok then? I mean, the extra magic didn’t hurt you right?” Trevor was worried. He hoped that something worse than her arm wasn’t hurting from her over doing her magic.
“On the contrary, the extra light magic completely healed my arm. Now I can go and look for Slate!” Rina said, getting up from the bed and stretching her arm.
“You are…Rina, right?” Gremor said. He sounded confused.
“Yeah, don’t you remember me Gremor?” Rina said, tilting her head as she continued to stretch.
“I don’t remember anything since I left for my trip to Termania, then I was suddenly in that bar. It’s like the last few days are a blur.”
“It must have been that black shadow thing that possessed you Gremor.” Trevor said in a matter of fact tone.
“It probably blocked his memories while he was possessed.” Rina agreed.
“I’m sorry for all the trouble I caused you Rina.” Gremor said with a bow.
Rina blushed. “It’s not your fault.”
“So, you are going to find your horse right?” Trevor asked.
“I have to find out if he’s ok. After that, I think I’m going to check out Lake Hylia.”
Trevor smiled. “I hope you find him ok.”
“Thank you for everything Trevor.” Rina said, bowing. “If it weren’t for you, I would have died. I’m sorry that there is nothing I can do for you in return…”
“Don’t worry about it.” Trevor said, extending his hand. “Just promise that sometime you will come back for a visit.”
“Of course I will!” Rina said, shaking Trevor’s hand.

After changing back into her tunic, getting all of her equipment together, and sharpening her sword just a little bit more, Rina was ready to go. She made sure she checked to make sure she had all of her stuff, then went to say good bye to Trevor.
“Thanks for everything Trevor.” Rina said, almost ready to leave. “I wouldn’t be here right now if you hadn’t saved me.”
“It was nothing, you should be thanking Yuna. She was the one who pointed you out to me.” Trevor said, smiling. “But I am going to miss you around here. It’s going to get pretty quiet.”
Rina grinned. “But don’t worry, once I get Slate back, I’ll stop by!” Rina gave Trevor, who started to blush, a hug. “Good bye.”
Rina walked out of the Castle Town gates into Hyrule Field. “Now let’s see, where is the Lon Lon Ranch?” All Rina could see was field, some trees, and then more field. But then something caught her eye. She saw in the distance a fence, a big fence, surrounding what looked like to be a barn and a house. “That must be it!” Rina began to run in that direction.
After running for about an hour and a half, Rina finally made it to the ranch. “Man…that was farther than I thought.” Rina gasped, in between pants. “Now, I just hope Slate is here.”
She walked through the gates, and was amazed at what she saw. The ranch was pretty big, but not as big her Romani Ranch. She looked passed the house and the barn and saw a big field, filled with horses, a few cows, and some Cuckoos. All of the horses were brown, except one. It was grey, with a black mane.
“SLATE!!”

Rina got past the open gate which lead to the field and stopped. She had the strangest feeling that someone was watching her, and then all of a sudden she heard something. It was the sound of an arrow whizzing the air, come strait at her from behind! Rina quickly turned around and put up her shield, knocking the arrow to the ground. She looked in the direction the arrow had come, and saw someone move out of site from the window.
“Hmm…it looks like someone is out to get me here,” Rina thought out loud. “I better make this quick.” She ran over to the fenced in area where Slate was, and he came galloping to her. She hopped on quickly, and then saw another arrow flying from the window, but it wasn’t at her. It was aimed in the middle of the flock of Cuckoos resting under the near by tree.
“Uh…no” Rina said. “RUN SLATE!” She hit both of her heals against Slate’s sides, making him rear, then begin to run. They started to go for the gate Rina had come through, but it was closed! Rina looked around frantically for another way out, when a portion of the fence surrounding the ranch caught her eye. It was much lower than the rest of the fence. Slate could probably jump that... Rina thought to herself.
She grabbed the reins, and turned Slate in the direction of the low fence. Then, the Cuckoos began to chase them. Slate was running close to as fast as he could, and the enraged birds were catching up! Rina knew that she could not get out her bow and begin to shoot them down, that would make the one aiming at her even angrier.
Slate began to slow down, and Rina knew that they needed enough speed to cover the fence. Even if it was lower than the rest, it still was very high. She used her magic to give him more energy, and he picked up speed, leaving the Cuckoos a bit behind them. “Ok...” Rina said to Slate. “We HAVE to jump that lower part of the fence. Otherwise, we’re not going to be able to get out of here…understand?” Slate nodded, and put more force into his gallop.
When they were in range, Slate jumped with all his might. It seemed like they were in the air for a while, and that they were not going to clear the fence. But, they barely made it over, and when they did, and final arrow was fired, but it missed Rina its target, Rina’s head.
When they landed safely on the other side, Rina got the arrow out of her hat, and sighed in relief. She looked back at the fence they had just jumped. It seemed so much higher now. “I’m so glad that you are back Slate!” Rina said, hugging her beloved horse. “Now we’re going to Lake Hylia!” Slate reared, and they galloped off towards the Lake.

When they had finally reached Lake Hylia, Slate trotted to a stop on the shore line, and Rina got off. She stretched her legs, and began to look around. The lake was beautiful! It may not be as big as the Great Bay she was used to, but it was by far prettier than that salty puddle. “I didn’t think that Lake Hylia would be this pretty.” Rina sighed. “Hyrule is better than I thought it would be. I wonder why Dad left.”
Then something caught Rina’s eye. What looked like ruins jutted out of the lake very close to the shore. Rina walked over to it, to get a closer look. Slate, on the other hand, took it upon himself to mow the grass near by. When Rina got closer, she saw that the ruins continued underwater. “I wonder where that leads…” Rina thought out loud. “It looks like you can get in through an entrance underwater, but how are you supposed to get to it?”
Rina pondered that for a while, and turned her back on the lake and began to pace. Little did she know, she was being watched! Two fish like creatures, known as Zoras, quietly swam out from behind two of the submerged pillars of the ruins. They were carrying spears, and wearing armor.
“Do you think this girl is the one?” the one Zora whispered to his partner.
“Hmm…the person we are looking for is not from these parts, and they are armed.” The other Zora said, noticing the sword on Rina’s back. “She must be the one! Get her!”
The two Zoras leapt from the water, and Rina turned around. Rina took a step back, and the Zoras advanced.
“Halt! You are under arrest for treason against the Zora King!” the first Zora shouted. “Resistance is futile!”
Rina began to run, but the Zoras were fast, despite looking like fish. They grabbed her, but some sort of hand cuffs on her wrists, and lead her underwater, into their Domain.

The Zoras had Rina underwater for a minute, and then they resurfaced in what seemed to be a large underground cavern. It had high ceilings, water filled most of it, and there was even a waterfall! Rina looked around in awe, wondering how this could all be underneath were she was just walking around, when once of the Zora guards jerked her back to reality.
“This way” He said. “Your trail will begin soon.”
“Trail? What did I do?” Rina asked, so confused and enraged that she was being accused of something she did not know anything about.
“Don’t play dumb with us!” The other Zora barked. “You know very well what you have done. I will now go inform the Kind that we have the prisoner in custody.”
The Zoras nodded at each other, and the one dove underwater and swam away. The Zora that was still holding onto Rina’s arm led her over to a small area of land and they wait for the trail to start.
While they waited, Rina got another chance to look around. There were Zoras everywhere! There was even a store that was run by a Zora. All of a sudden, the other guard came back and signaled that the trail was about to begin.
After climbing a long, winding staircase around the central pillar of the cavern, Rina reached the Royal Chamber. There was a stone platform in the middle of a room filled with shallow water. Another set of stairs went around a wall and ended up on a higher platform, which was also covered with water that created a waterfall when it fell to the floor. The King of the Zoras sat on that platform.
The King was very big, and very old. He sat there, looking down on Rina with a blank look of disgust. Rina looked back into his eyes, not with fear, but with courage. Courage that she was going to prove these mutant fish wrong.
A Zora stepped up on the same platform that the King was on, and began the trail. Rina had just noticed that there was a crowd of Zoras standing behind her, watching the trail.
“Calm down everyone!” the Zora yelled over the crowd. They were silent. “We are here to try this human for crimes against the Zora clan. This girl is suspected of tormenting Zoras when they come up on land to deliver our fish to the Castle Town. She has also been seen trying to break into the Domain by the other entrance in Hyrule Field. Can we have our first witness up here?”
Rina was shocked. She had never been near this lake or Hyrule for that matter! This was here first time here, and now she was taking the blame for some other idiot’s actions!
The first witness was a female Zora, who said that she saw Rina trying to get past the waterfall that blocked their Domain’s land entrance. When asked if that was true, Rina bluntly denied it. The crowd of Zoras got mad at her answer, and when the Zora who began the trail called for order, the second witness was brought up.
“That is her!” The old Zora pointed at Rina. “She was the one that stole my cart of fish when I was trying to get into Hyrule Field two weeks ago!”
“Thank you that is enough.” The Zora judge said, trying to get the old Zora off the stand. “Now, has the jury come to a verdict?”
Rina had no idea that there had been a jury, they whole thing had been set up so fast. She looked over and saw a group of Zoras in a huddle, talking. One turned around and presented the group’s decision.
“We the jury finds this girl guilty of the crimes charged against her.”
The crowd gasped. Rina went pale. She knew that this was not going to end well for her. This was even worse than what happened to her in the desert!
“What are you going to do to her?” a member of the crowd yelled.
“She will be fed to Lord Jabu Jabu!” the representative of the jury announced.
“WHAT?” Rina yelled.

While they were dragging the prisoner away to keep her in a cell till her punishment was going to be carried out, one Zora was not happy. She was Princess Ruto, daughter of the Zora King. She did not see most of the trail, because when she saw the girl, she got a blast from her past. That girl looked strangely like her one true love who had left her many years before. When Ruto looked at the girl, she had begun to cry, so she went to her room, so know one would see her and make her explain.
Now that she was calmer, she was sitting by the large pool in the center of the Domain, gazing at the waterfall. She was so lost in thought, that she wasn’t even looking at the falling water, she was thinking about her true love. How they had promised to marry when the were children, when he saved her from the Water Temple seven years after their promise, and how he never came back after that.
She was so lost that she didn’t notice the Zora that came up behind her. When he started to talk, Ruto jumped a little.
“Princess, why weren’t you at the trail.” Ruto knew that voice. It was the voice of her father’s right hand fish, the one who acted as the ‘judge’ during the trail.
“I wasn’t feeling well, so I left so I would not ruin the trail for anyone.” Ruto said, looking down at the smooth water washed rock floor.
“I see…” the Zora replied. “I’m sorry to hear that. You’re father was worried about you, and told me to come a check up on you.” He bowed, and began to walk away.
“Wait Fin!” Ruto yelled after him, getting up and walking up to him.
“What is it Princess?” Fin said, turning around. “Is something wrong?”
“I just wanted to know what is going to happen to the girl…that’s all.” Ruto said softly.
“She is going to be fed to Lord Jabu Jabu at sunset.” Fin said harshly.
Ruto gasped. “That is so uncivilized! Why are you resorting to the old punishments?”
“It was the King’s order to the jury before the trail started.”
----------------------------------------------------------------
Back on the shore of the lake, Link came riding in on Eponia. He had heard from this man named Trevor and the head of the Lon Lon Ranch that his daughter had come this way. The only problem was, he didn’t see her! While scanning the waters, he saw a familiar grey horse looking down into the water.
“Slate…” Link said to himself. He jumped off of Eponia and got out his Mask of Truth. He knew that he could talk to dogs and Gossip Stones with it on, but he didn’t know about horses. He ran over to Slate, who was surprised at first, then recognized him. Link asked him where Rina went, and amazing the Mask of Truth worked!
“She was taken by two Zoras into the water. They have been down there a long time, and I haven’t seen either Rina or the Zoras for around an hour.” Slate neighed.
“TAKEN BY ZORAS?! What did she do to them?” Link roared in rage.
“Calm down Link. She was just looking at those ruins, and they came up and grabbed her, saying that they finally caught her. It was really weird and sudden.” Slate whinnied.
“Then there is no other way. Thank you so much Slate. Just stay here with Eponia until I get back with Rina ok?” Link asked the horse. Slate nodded, and Link took off the Mask of Truth. It wasn’t going to help him get Rina back. He grabbed his Zora mask, and put it on.
There was the flash of pain Link had forgotten about as he turned from a human in a Zora. When the purple waves of magic disappeared, Link had become a Zora. He was not going to waste any time. He ran over to the water and dove in; determined to get his daughter back.

When Link jumped into the water, he felt weird. It had been a long time since he had put on his Zora mask, and the last time he used it, he was in salt water. His stomach began to hurt, and his vision became blurry. “Arrg…” Link groaned. “What’s happening?” He began to slowly sink to the bottom of the lake, and he started to feel a little better. “Hmm…I guess my Zora form isn’t used to fresh water…” Link said, looking down at his scale covered body. “Maybe if I swim around for a little bit it will adjust!”
So Link began to do laps around the parameter of Lake Hylia, getting faster each time he started a new lap. “It has been a while…” Link thought out loud. It had been around twenty to thirty years since he had put on this mask…and now he was lost in memories. After finishing his thirty first lap, he leapt from the water onto the shore and got some fresh air. Then, when he saw Slate, he remembered why he was there, and dove back into the water.
When he reached the Zora’s Domain’s gates, he was greeted by two Zora guards. “I am sorry sir, but there is a ceremony to Lord Jabu Jabu soon. No one is allowed in until it is over.”
“Ok. I am here on business, but I guess it will have to wait.” Link said coolly as his drifted down and touched the bottom of the ruin. “Rina, please be aright…”
----------------------------------------------------------
Rina had been in the cell for around half an hour, how long until they would take her? Then, she heard the rusty cell door slide into the wall. They were here. “Come on now you!” One of the Zoras said sharply to her, grabbing her by the arm. “It’s time to take your punishment!”
They lead Rina out of her cell behind the giant waterfall of the Domain, and up the stairs she went up before. When they reached the King’s chamber, they made a right, and took some back stairs to Jabu Jabu’s Shrine.
After walking knee deep in water through a dark tunnel, they reached the shrine. It was in the open air, and was like a small lake. There were mountains on all of the sides of the lake, and in the middle of the lake was a giant whale, Lord Jabu Jabu. Rina gulped, she had not known what to expect when they said Lord Jabu Jabu, but she was guessing that the Zoras treated this giant whale like a god. It had a giant golden crown on its head, and it had many other pieces of jewelry on it. There was also a platform in front of it, surrounded by gates.
The Zora lead Rina up to the platform, and closed the gate. She looked around, and saw many other Zoras standing in the ankle deep water, watching the punishment.
“Sheesh,” Rina thought out loud. “They are treating this thing like some kind of ceremony.”
One Zora came up to the edge of the gate. This Zora was different from the others; he had a robe on, and was wearing jewelry. Probably a priest or something for this Jabu Jabu Rina thought.
When the Zora reached the gate, he pulled a bottle from his robes. Rina leaded forward to see what was in the bottle, when the Zora pulled out the stopper, and let a small fish fall to the floor of the platform. Rina looked down at it the fish, wondering what it was for, when she noticed all of the Zoras had gotten away from the front of the platform. What was going on?
Behind Rina, Jabu Jabu saw the fish, and began to open its large mouth. When its mouth was fully open, it began to suck in the air to try and get the fish. Rina had not looked behind her, when she noticed that she had started to slowly move backwards, like she was being pulled. She turned around, and saw the whales open mouth. Her eyes widened, and she tried to push against the vacuum the whale had created to get a hold of the gate.
The fish was beginning to also fight the vacuum, and this made Jabu Jabu mad. It increased the power of its vacuum, and the fish went flying into its mouth. Rina was almost at the gate, when she noticed her feet were no longer touching the ground. In an instant, she was pulled into the whale, and he closed his mouth; satisfied that he had gotten his fish.

Link was still waiting outside of the Zora’s Domain gates, when a small fish swam up to the guards. It had a letter underneath its fin, and it gave it to one of the guards. After putting the note under his armor, the Zora, along with the other guard, thrust the blunt ends of their spear against the wall, opening the door.
“Sorry for the wait sir.” The one guard said, bowing. “I hope you enjoy your trip to Hyrule’s own, Zora’s Domain.”
“Umm…thanks. I will.” And with that, Link swam through the gate, determined to find Rina.
When he got inside, he was amazed at how similar it was. It looked just the same when he had come here when he was younger to save the Zora princess. Link surfaced, and looked and swam over to the edge of the large waterfall fed pool. First thing was, he needed information. Just as he was going to set out to talk to some Zoras, his stomach growled. “Hehehehe….” Link laughed. “I guess it’s time for lunch! Besides, I can get good information from a dinner!” He said, reassuring himself that he wasn’t slaking off.
When he reached the only restaurant in the Domain, he was quickly seated and he ordered lunch. While he was waiting for his food, some other Zoras walked past his table, then turned around and began to talk with him.
“I haven’t seen you around here before, where are you from?” One of the Zoras asked.
“Oh, I’m from Great Bay, in Termania…” Link started.
“TERMANIA?! You come from there?! That’s amazing! What’s it like there?” Both Zoras blurted out together.
“It’s nice there. A few years back there were some problems, but they are all smoothed out now. You guys should come by for a visit sometime. I know that the Domain there will welcome you open finned.” Link smiled.
“We have been planning to go there sometime…” The one Zora said, looking at his friend. “But we have never had the time. There are always celebrations to Lord Jabu Jabu and festivals.”
“Speaking of which, what was the festival to Jabu Jabu today for? The guards wouldn’t let me in because it was going on.”
“Oh that. It was the punishment of a criminal. This girl was caught earlier, and she was found guilty of terrorizing Zoras. You see, there have been a string of crimes around the lake front this past month, but now that we have the purp, we can all go on with our lives safely!” The Zora’s friend said.
“Wait a minute, what did the girl look like?” “Well, let’s see. She had short blond hair, greenish-bluish clothes, and a sword and shield. All of the victims said that she was the one that was robbing them when they went to sell their stuff in the Castle Town.”
Link’s eyes widened and his already pale blue skin became even paler. That was Rina, he thought to himself. No….that couldn’t be true.
“What did they do with the girl?” Link blurted out, rising from his seat and putting his hand down on the table.
“Oh! That’s easy! They fed her to Lord Jabu Jabu.” The Zora continued.
Link slumped back down into his seat, and just stared blankly at the two Zoras.
“Are you ok sir?” The Zora asked. “You look almost was white as ice.”
“Oh, I’ll be fine. I think it’s this freshwater.” Link said, putting his hand on his head.
“That’s right! Great Bay is an ocean with salt water! Don’t worry, sir, you’ll get used to it.”
Link didn’t say anything, and just kept staring.
----------------------------------------------
When Rina opened her eyes, she forgot where she was. The last thing she remembered was getting sucked inside of a whale, but the rest was blank. She looked around, nothing coming to mind. “Maybe it was just a dream…” Rina thought out loud, but then stopped when she saw a row of teeth in front of her. She WAS inside of that whale, but how was she going to get out?
“This sure doesn’t look like the inside of a whale. It looks more like a dungeon. Maybe, that’s why they fed criminals to that Jabu Jabu! Since it’s a dungeon, they will just die after a while from the monsters and traps inside.” Rina wasn’t happy about her discovery though, things were not looking good for her.
When Rina was glad that it was pretty light, for being inside of a fish and all. While scanning the walls, she noticed a hallway. She walked over too it, and found a locked door at the end.
“That’s no help…” Rina said to herself. So she turned around and began to walk back into the room to think of someway to get out. When she was a few steps away from the door, she heard a thud behind her, like something falling from the ceiling. She turned around and saw a giant jellyfish! She recognized it as a Bari, and got out her bow, know that Bari could give you a deadly shock.
She took aim at the small center of the Bari, and fired her arrow. She missed the center, and the arrow just passed through the water like substance the Bari was made of.
“Sheesh! If it wasn’t almost entirely made of water it would be…” Rina stopped herself in mid-sentence. She had gotten an amazing idea!
She put another arrow in her bow, and began to focus. Instead of focusing on light, she was focusing on ice. She looked at the tip of the arrow, and saw it was beginning to frost over. After a few more seconds, the entire tip had frozen over and then some. She released the arrow right at the Bari.
When the arrow made contact, the Bari’s entire body froze into one block of ice. Since Baris can float, the ice was suspended in midair for a second, then came crashing down to the floor, shattering into a million pieces. Rina noticed that the ice had cause the door to unlock, so she stepped over the mess and continued on her way, muttering to herself. “That’s one for Rina, zero for the giant fish!”

Rina continued on her way down the corridor, and came to another door. She opened it, and it lead to a giant chamber. The room had about 6 or 7 holes in the floor, and there was this crazy pillar, which was a vivid yellow green, coming out of a hole on the far side of the room.
“This place is getting weirder with every new door…” Rina sighed as she began to look at the room closer. “I wonder where these holes lead….” She said stepping up to the nearest hole.
When she got with a foot and a half of the hole, the ground got mushy, and she almost fell into the hole. Lucky, she was able to scramble onto the stable ground before she could fall. “I forgot…” Rina panted. “This place is alive! I should be more careful.” She got up, and wiped some of the gunk that was on the floor off of her clothes.
When she was going to get her sword out, a piece of paper fell from the scabbard. It looked like a note, and even said ‘To Rina’ on the front. She picked it up, and began to read it.
‘Dear Rina, I’m sorry I’m not with you right now, but I have a confession to make. When Trevor told you I was sleeping in while we were in the Castle Town, I had actually gone back to the Lost Woods. I went back because being away made me realize that I needed to be around my friends and family, and that traveling away from them could not make me forget about them. I wish I could have told you, but you were injured, and I didn’t want to hurt you even more. So I wrote this, and put it by your sword, because I knew you would find it soon. I do miss you though, and I hope that Slate is ok. But I also hope you are ok too! Sometime, drop by the Lost Woods, so we can see each other again! Your Friend, Yuna’
Rina didn’t know what to think. She was glad the Yuna was happy and ok, but she missed her friend. “Hmm…I guess this means that I have to visit her, since I miss her so much.” Rina thought out loud. “But that can wait; first I have to get out of this whale!”
After safely crossing the room with out falling in any holes, Rina began to walk to the door on the other side. “Here it goes…” Rina said to herself as the door opened.
This room was weirder than the last! There were three other tunnels, besides the one she was in, leading to a small central area. Two of the tunnels were pulsing red, while the others were pulsing blue. When Rina got to the center of the tunnels, three worm like things tunneled up from the floor. At first they didn’t seem to notice her, but then all three of them faced her. But they didn’t really seem to have “faces”, they were more like three rotating claws.
The one nearest her began to come closer to her, getting its entire body out of the ground, and revealing that they can fly! Rina reached for her sword and swung, but when she made contact, she got a shock.
“Sheesh!” Rina yelled, grabbing her right arm trying to stop the pain. “Can everything here shock you?” When she finally stopped the pain and got feeling back in her arm, she put her sword away and got out her bow again. She aimed for the things “head” and hit it in the middle of the three claws, killing it. She sighed a sigh of relief, and then remembered that there were still two more!
“Great, looks like I have to get busy here….” Rina said as she got another arrow ready.
------------------------------------------------------
Once Link had shook of the shock of what had happened to Rina, he left the dinner, and headed strait for Jabu Jabu. He knew he would have to get through the king’s chamber, but when he saw a sign that said: “Off to lunch, be back in five” by one of the main posts for the guards, he knew he could get through easily.
He climbed the familiar staircase, and expected to see a new king, but then he realized that it was the same kind that was there when he was saving Hyrule. He was so much older now, and was sound asleep. Link smirked, and quietly went around to the entrance to Jabu Jabu’s shrine.
When he got there, it was exactly as he remembered it. He glared at the whale, as he dove into the water to get a fish. He saw one near the bottom and zoomed through the water and grabbed it with his bare hand (more like fin…but oh well!). He surfaced and walked over to the platform. Dropping the fish on the stone tiles, Link got ready to run. Jabu Jabu saw the fish and opened his mouth, and then Link ran inside.
Link successfully got inside, and while he was looking around the main room, he was hit on the back of the head with something. He rubbed the back and turned around to see what had hit him. It was the fish. Link groaned, and saw that there was ice all over the floor by the door. He walked over and saw that it was a Bari that had shattered. He wondered what had happened, and then he realized it was his daughter’s handy work.
“So she was able to make an ice arrow, huh?” Link said with a smile on his face. “She must have come this way.” And Link went through the door into the next room.

After she had killed the other two worms, Rina decided to head down one of the tunnels, but which one? The one on her right had another pulsing tower, but this one was purple and blue. The next tunnel seemed clear, so she headed down there.
The room it lead to was very big and open, only a few pots lay scattered around the edge of the room. “Hmm….something’s not right here.” Rina said to herself, drawing her sword. “It just doesn’t feel right. Like something might pop out of the wall…”
Rina was cut off when a giant thing fell from the ceiling. It kind of looked like a snake, but it had no head, or any other features for that matter. It was of one substance, and one color, reddish pink like the walls of the room. It hung from the ceiling, and swung back and forth like a pendulum. It seemed to be thinner at one point near the ceiling, and Rina guessed that that was its weak point. But how would she get up there?
“This isn’t going to do me any good.” Rina remarked, sheathing her sword and reaching for her bow. She aimed an arrow at the “weak spot” and hit it dead on. The thing went berserk. It swung around the room crazily and it seemed to be in pain.
Then all of a sudden, it stopped moving all together and just hung there. Rina thought it was dead, and went to go examine it up close. Putting away her bow, she walked into the center of the room. Then all of a sudden, the thing came back to life and took one final swing at Rina, sending her against the wall and knocking her unconscious.
-----------------------------------------------------
After Link had fought off a second Bari in the room with the holes, he was confident that he was getting closer to Rina. When he went into the room with tunnels, he saw the dead Tailpasaran on the floor and grinned.
“She is stronger than I thought.” He smirked, noticing the arrows in them, “and she has better aim than me, she must get that from her mother.” Link stood at the junction of the tunnels, trying to figure out which one to go into. Noticing the column in the tunnel closest to him, he knew Rina had not gone in there. He knew all of the tunnels lead to dead end rooms, so Rina must be inside one of them.
He decided to go into the tunnel on the other side of the door he came in, opposite the tunnel with the column. When he got inside the room, he was knocked back by a thing from the ceiling, but this one was bluish red. Link winced, holding his stomach. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Parasitic Tentacle, this should be fun.”
Link used his fins as a boomerang, and aimed for its weak spot by the ceiling. When he hit it, the tentacle began to swing around madly. Then it retreated to the ceiling again. Link stood his ground and waited for it to come back. When it did, the tentacle took another swing at Link, who was ready and dodged it. He sent out his fin boomerangs again and the tentacle fell to the floor, defeated.
Near the back wall of the room, a chest appeared in a bright light. Amazed that it was there, Link walked over to it and opened it. The chest contained 50 rupees.
Pleased with his victory and his treasure, Link left the room and headed to the next tunnel to his left. When he saw the switch in front of the door was not pressed, he knew Rina could not be in there, and headed to the next and last room she could have gone in.
When he opened the door, he saw another Parasitic Tentacle swinging around, but it was not focusing on him. Then he saw something slumped against the wall. It was Rina! Link figured out what happened and was enraged at the tentacle. Sending out his fins at the same time, he killed the tentacle, sending it crashing to the floor.
Then he ran over to his daughter. At first he thought she was dead, and was relieved to find her merely unconscious. He picked her up on his back and carried her to the beginning of the dungeon. When they got their, Link got out a bottle filled with water and splashed some on Rina’s face. She slowly regained consciousness and looked around wondering where she was.
“Uggg….my head,” she groaned sitting up. “Where am I? Who are you?”
Link smiled, she didn’t recognize him in his Zora form. “You don’t have to worry; I killed the tentacle back there and brought you out here. We are getting out of this whale.”
“How are we going to do that?” Rina asked.
“I’ve been in here before, I know the way out. I just hope those Zoras are ready for me when I get there. I have a bone to pick with them.”
