Look its here! Its finally here! Enjoy!
Prologue
It was late at night, when Rina awoke with a start. She had been in the middle of a dream, when things started to get weird, which is why she woke up. The Triforce of Courage on the back of her right hand also seemed to give off a flicker of pain, or maybe it was just her imagination. Rina let out a deep sigh, and fell back onto her pillow, and slowly drifted back to sleep.
It had been a year since her father, the Hero of Time; Link had given her the Triforce of Courage in the Temple of Time, even though to Rina it seemed like ages. Nothing interesting had happened since then, so every moment at home on the Romani Ranch seemed to run into the next one.
That was the reason she started to go out everyday and see some of her friends, since she was starting to not be able to bear being at home. She loved the ranch, really, but she needed excitement, and adventure was basically in the genes. At home were just her father and her annoying cousin, Jake.
It was during the winter last year that her Aunt Cremia got terribly sick one day while watching the animals outside. They sent her to the doctor who lives near Great Bay, but it was so sever. She ended up dying peacefully (the sickness wasn’t putting her in pain, it was just strongly weakening her body) at her first home, her beloved Romani Ranch.
Now losing her aunt, Rina was strongly reminded of her mother, and didn’t talk for a week or so after the incident. Strangely enough, Jake seemed to be the calmest one about it all. He insisted that she was in a better place, with his father and her sister, and that they should be happy she was reunited with them. The death didn’t affect Link all that much, even though he still grieved her passing.
The next morning, Rina kept thinking about the dream she had, and knew that it would be a good day to leave the ranch for a while. Her dream had involved her family, and she couldn’t stop thinking about what happened, so she decided some time away would do her good. This time though, her father stopped her before she left.
“You don’t look so good this morning Rina. Should you really being going out? Where are you even going to anyway?”
“I just have some things on my mind Dad, nothing to worry about. And I’m just going to see my friends again today, you know that.”
This wasn’t the answer Link had wanted. “Just who are you seeing anyway? You’ve never even told me the name of your ‘friends’. Why don’t they come over here sometime?”
“Well, first of all you never really asked. Second you haven’t really met them. And third, they don’t have a way to come over here.”
“Oh, so you can go to their place, but they can’t come here? That sounds suspicious.”
Rina began to blush. “Why do you even care? It’s not like I’m doing anything dangerous. I’ve never really had any friends like them ever!”
Link let out a sigh. He did under stand what she was going through to some extent. As a kid, he never had any real friends, but once he started to go out and save the world all the time, he never really had any time for things like friends. “Could you at least tell me where you are going to be? That way I don’t have to sit here and worry about where you are?”
“Well, um. I’m going to Hyrule.” Rina said, almost in a whisper.
Link jumped out of his chair. “HYRULE?! How are you even getting their in less than a day and then even have time to see anyone and still come back before dark!? Do you know how dangerous Hyrule is?” He was practically shouting at her.
“Of course I know how dangerous it is! I was there with you, remember?”
“That still doesn’t explain how you’ve been getting there? What’s so important that you have to go to Hyrule just to see it?”
“Rith is!” Rina blurted out. After she said that, she began to turn even redder.
“Zelda’s son? You’ve been going to see him? How?” Hearing that did make him feel a little better. He had heard many good things about Rith from Zelda, but something new was telling him not to let this pass. What if this boy hurt Rina? (You could say it was his fatherly instincts kicking in for the first time)
“With the Ocarina of Time.” Rina said still bright red. “I’ve been using the Prelude of Light to get to the Temple of Time, and then using the Song of Soaring to get back here. Didn’t you know you could do that?”
“No. I figured it was impossible to warp between the two nations.” Link replied. There were still things that he hadn’t learned as possessor of the Triforce of Courage and the Ocarina of Time. Who knows what other untapped powers those things had?
“So can I go? Rith will be waiting for me. And don’t worry; I can take care of myself.”
“Yes I know you can. Just be careful.” Link said, sitting back down in defeat. Even if he had said no, she would have still gone.
“Even if I can’t handle everything, Rith will be there to protect me!” Rina said, blushing and smiling as she left the house. She had said it just soft enough for Link to hear it, and that statement made him angry. But it was too late, soon the Prelude of Light echoed off the fields of the ranch, and with a bright light, Rina was gone.
Jake then came into the room, looking scared.
“What was that light? Is something happening?”
Link sighed again. “No, it was just Rina leaving. You have nothing to worry about Jake. She’ll be back later today.”
There was no way Link could be happy about this. Rina was growing up, and he couldn’t stop her.
