XD i was thinking these past few days that if anyone here has heard of the mewtwo theory. there is a sorta old and powerful theory that mewtwo could in fact be a female rather then a male. since team rocket used mew genes, and mew being a female, mewtwo could possibly be female. course many have also argued that it was team rocket who altered the genes in a way that mewtwo appeared, and sounded like male. though the theory that mewtwo being female sorta makes more sense. I personally dont care. if there are multiple mew [which i would like to think there are] then 90% of the population would more likely be female. so the odds are getting male mew genes could be possible. when i brought that up, many who beleived that mewtwo could be female changed their minds and went with male. i have given up on that theory and then moved on to the pokeball theories, which you'd be surprised what ppl think, while i just work on getting news from the original creaters suggestions on the theories that big pokemon fans came up with. but my point and subject is, that... has anyone here heard of the mewtwo theory?

XD, in the games, they are genderless. but the cartoon refers to mew being a she, and the mewtwo being a he.

I don't know. I still have doubts about that. They could have changed his gender somehow.

shouldnt mew be able to be both genders at once? or be able to change? being like the ancestor of all pokemon, something must be possible...

I had this one theory that there was more then one mew, i dont know if you noticed, but mew acts differently every time you see her or him. but you both have a good point. i did research and found that there is only one mew so far, so it could be genderless after all. but i know for a fact that the creators intended for mew to be female. but then again, team rocket could have altered mewtwo's genetic structure and make him male.

but, i do remember this one part from the first pokemon movie that went something like this:
it was about how mew was said to be extinct, and that it was the rarest species.
normally, when talking about species, it means more than one. and its being extinct could be taken as there were many before, but now there are only a few,

True. That's a good point; having a species of mew until there is one or a little bit left would probably make sense... Is that where we are getting at?

blue your a poke genius...
if thats al corect then i might have been right about my theory about more then one mew. if thats the case, then there might be male mew out there. and that means that team rocket could have taken male mew genes. now before i jump to a conclusion i need to find out something.
AWWWW! i just thought of something... if mew breed then that means that there is a such thing as a baby mew... cute.

i have seen the first pokemon movie many times before (even in theatres! wow that was long ago!) and i remember the beginning quite well.
did you know, that there was a mini thing called: "The Origin of Mewtwo" and it was about a time before mewtwo was really born, and he/it was just a subconscience. i think they may have added it into the DVD (if there is one) of the first movie...but it wasnt orginally brought into the dub of the movie (i think) because there is a "cloned" human in it. i dont remember where i saw it (maybe youtube....i watch many things there) but the one i saw was in english. you might just have to search around for it if you are interested.

yeah i dont remember much either, but it did show a baby mewtwo, so a baby mew is possible. and in the beginning of the movie, all the scientist reference mewtwo as a "he" i think...

yeah... i talked to bigger fans of pokemon and they all have heard of the theory and came to a conclusion that there are either more then one mew or team rocket turned her into a him

I really have to agree. How could Mewtew be called a "he" if they didn't change his gender and he is a female. His voice would probably sound like a female if they didn't change it as well in my opinion. Mewtew just has to be a male.

there has to be more than one mew. atleast by anime standards.
for example, they reverence basically all the lengendaries as "a" of their species (like a zapdos) not as just Zapdos (inferring that there is only one). legendaries, though rare, are still species of pokemon, they just are probably in fewer numbers and have better ways of conceling their location from people.
but that is just my theory
